Good morning dear folks from Wonderful Wollongong (am just quoting our murdered Lord Mayor Frank Arkell)
Had visitors late last night, daughter and son in law arrived from an event they attended in Sydney, this morning we went to lunch at a local Indian restaurant, They had mild to medium curries naturally I had mine as hot as the sun, the waitress said she expected exactly the opposite. Lovely meal but they have now set off for Canberra.
My Agave has flowered for the first time, apparently that means it is at the end of its life but I have lots more to replace it. it must be getting on for 30 years old. The flowers are enormous.
Wet and overcast today here at the seaside. Not sure what I’m doing today, was supposed to be going on a shoot, but the weather has put a stop to it, at least for today. So I’ll guess I’ll just have to see what turns up and maybe go out later.
Looking grey and unsettled at present …and that’s just me. The weather isn’t looking that good either.
It’s family day today, so it will get noisy at some point this afternoon. I’ll be getting a grandson to take some rubbish to the dump for me. He phoned to ask if there was anything we wanted taking there. Had a good curry with our friends last night (yum yum).
Morning all – sunny start to the day but clouding over with rain forecast for later.
Had a bit of a frustrating day yesterday. Some solar garden lights I bought last week have stopped working so will have to return those.
Checked the prices for my flights to Australia, not changed, that’s the good news. Then decided that before I booked the tickets I should arrange the visa, filled in the application form online which included having to send a copy of my passport. Now as I have mentioned before I am not very technically minded – I just couldn’t work out how to do it! After an hour I think I finally worked it out by which time I had almost lost the will to live so will have another go today.
Then in the evening settled down watching a favourite DVD – went to the bathroom, flushed the loo only for something to go wrong and the water wouldn’t stop flowing into the pan. Panic phone call to my neighbour who immediately came in and managed to fix it – although he did admit he couldn’t understand what went wrong! I am now afraid to use that loo (fortunately I have two others!)
Today’s plan is a visit to the cemetery and then do battle with the visa application – wish me luck!
