Good morning to you all on this rather dull Sunday, it looks like rain but probably won’t and it is quite warm. Only another week until Spring - Hooray!
I was expected a visit from my son but he pricked up an extra shift, he is in transition leaving the Navy since he discovered that you get paid overtime he takes every opportunity in his new job.
I spent the morning fixing a bracket to my roof racks to hold my new awning.
Still got the second one to do but I wonder if it the awning might catch the garage door on the way in or out.
Still it keeps me busy. I was planning a view days away next week but am waiting for a important news so have a slight delay until I know exactly what is going on, annoying but that’s the way it goes.
Have a happy Sunday, enjoy the weekend. Back to work tomorrow for some of you. Take care.
Good morning - It is sunny but the temperature at 8.25 a.m. is only 13ºC. Another routine Sunday, Our daughter has left to see the family in the North. Not much happening.
first short walk since being back home. Nothing like a walk to the local tuck shop for inspiration. not too hot at the moment and sunny with light clouds
Good morning everyone. A sunny and warm morning again after the heavy rain of yesterday.
My dog walk took longer than usual this morning due to the number of people I met who wanted to chat, which was quite pleasant. On some days I never see a soul so it was nice to see so many people out and about. Further down the main road that runs through our village there are some roadworks with three sets of portable traffic lights - all sets were permanently on red this morning causing much friction and chaos. I don’t think I shall get my car out today!
I have hung washing out to dry this morning. As I was hanging it out I felt the disapproval of my late mother who would have told me off for doing washing on a Sunday! My mother was extremely rigid when it came to what could and couldn’t be done on a Sunday - how things have changed since my childhood.
Nice work on the brackets, @Bruce Bruce. I know that awning almost doubles your sheltered footprint, and is my favorite “room” when camping.
@MargaretF I forgot about the tradition of hanging wash only between Monday and Saturday! The older women in my family always prepared a midday Sunday dinner, so it’s beyond me how they would have had time anyway. I’m happy that you and your pup had a long stroll.
I spent the majority of the day yesterday scooching my way around the house on my back or belly scrubbing trim, lower sections on walls, and the hardwoods where the trim meets the floor. The miracle of sudsy ammonia and Magic Erasers made light of that work, and the only downside is that I still have 3/4ths of the house to go. I weirdly love doing that kind of work; it makes a great difference and I can lose myself in music that raises memories filed too deeply in the brain. Yesterday it was a playlist of the mid 1970s - Eagles, James Taylor, Carole King, Led Zeppelin, Doobie Brothers…
If this weather clears off, the plan is to take the boat down river and moor somewhere for lunch (no laundry or cooking here). This is the time of year that the mother dolphins are widening their territory with their calves, so I am hoping to see a few - at a safe distance. Seeing the mothers and calves is one of the most satisfying experiences on the planet, IMHO. If I can get pictures, I’ll share.
I hope that this is a very fine Sunday for all of you!
