Good morning everyone on this rather wet Sunday, cool too, I am wearing my cardigan again though the need for it is probably borderline but after temps in the mid 20s to mid 30s today’s 21° seems frigid.
I have been very lucky after a dry week away about three hours after I arrived back home it started raining and rained all night giving me 31mm in my new rain gauge this morning. Every so often the sun comes out but it is generally an overcast day though the ground and plants welcomed the rain, it has been dry since near the beginning of the month.
Am having a lazy day occasionally catching up with jobs I found needed doing after my trip - patch my laundry bag, put a couple more spare AAA batteries in my camper, empty and air the fridge in my car - just little jobs like that.
Always nice to be home in familiar surroundings, using my own shower etc
A bit of tidying & last night’s washing up to do, then find the documents for my car service & MOT
A couple of my book shelves collapsed several days ago and I’ll make a start on repairing them, or at least sizing up t’job
Back to normal today with an early morning walk/jog, it was only 4 degrees C when I set off but at least it had stopped raining. Good enough for shorts as long as I put in some bursts of speed here and there…Might have overdone it a bit because I felt a bit wobbly and light headed while in the shower.
I’ve got a top of the range record deck set up in the workshop, and over the years Mrs Fox and me have collected lots of vinyl singles and LP’s. I rarely listen to music these days and can’t remember last time I used the deck. I was going to dispose of it, but then I wouldn’t be able to play the records…So I’ve decided to clean it up (it’s covered in dust) and box it, and the records up. I can’t see me using it anymore, but don’t like to throw it away. My loft is beginning to look like that warehouse on Indiana Jones…
