o que a isto?

ein stinkendes Waschbecken

Thanks @Janicelain, and nice to meet you.
Maybe this year is a good one for basil, seeing that you’re having lots of sunshine and heat in the UK , needs water every day and doesn’t want direct sunlight all day long. I make pesto sauce with basil, I suppose it doesn’t count as a “saucy story”?

TBH, I’m not entirely sure. We booked all this months ago. We are looking at some springs, a crater, a puffin watch and some other stuff as part of a guided tour around the area. Everything is dependant on the weather on the day.

Funny who you can bump into in the oddest places.

I once ran into a bloke in a restaurant in Katmandu who I had known many years earlier, I was travelling overland from UK to Australia, he was going in the opposite direction.

Oh thank god, I was hoping it wasn’t just me! Felt guilty for laughing so hard at a 12 year old’s misfortune but that story was absolutely wonderful. Just shows us blokes never really mature!

What say we ask Tracy to tell it again? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

My strangest was a pub in Bosnia. Ran into a chap who used to live on my road, moved to Australia. Thought we’d never cross paths again!

We were on holiday in Spain and I used to go running every morning with this cockney bloke who we met while on holiday in 1980.
Didn’t keep in contact and thought I’d never see him again…
I was running the London Marathon in 1989 and discovered that the bloke running by my side at 22 miles was this same bloke…Amazing!

I’ll take that as a compliment to my storytime skills! Ok if you boys behave yourselves and ask ever so politely I’ll tell the extended Tracy’s Director’s Cut version of it in a few days. How’s that sound? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Oh gosh incredible! Some amazing tales of coincidental encounters here

It was always a joke between us that no matter where we went my husband would bump into someone he knew. The most surprising was when we were in Singapore airport - and yes walking towards us was someone he knew from years previously. I swear he could have been on a balcony with the King and someone would say - oh look there’s Mike!

I wasn’t too keen on the London marathon Terry, a bit over subscribed to for my liking.
It was very nice to meet my friend on it though. His name was Terry…it’s not you is it?
:astonished:
I preferred Nottingham, The Robin Hood Marathon, I did that one ten times, probably because it was my first and it had sentimental connections.
I went on to run 36 full marathons in all, but first I was made redundant and went to work away from home, and then in 2004 I suffered a heart attack after a 13 mile training run. I only ran half marathons after that, and finally in 2021 my heart gave up big style and running for any distance was impossible. I have to walk a lot now, although I still jog short bursts when nobody’s looking…
Are you a runner Terry?

I must have missed that Wonderland story the first time around and have no idea what it could possibly be about, so count me in too! No siree bob, no idea what it’s about…I’m assuming it’s a wholesome, family friendly innocent feel-good tale that warms the heart? Am I correct?

Robert, is that you??? I’m joking of course

That’s the problem I kept running into with the London one. Never made the ballot. Done Great North Run several times, did the first Brighton marathon 15 years ago (badly!).
Don’t think I could manage it again but still jog most days. Still get a real rush from it.

Oh lordy, you lot are absolutely incorrigible :joy:

Fine, I’ll write it up in full when I get a chance, perhaps Friday evening?

Enjoyed Terry being subtle as a brick there…
