Good Morning Sunday 1st September 2024

Good morning all you Sunday sleepers. It is a lovely Spring day (Oh the joy of being able to say that!)

Got my washing on the line first thing and it was dry in a couple of hours, now I just have to put the sheets back on the bed. :slightly_frowning_face:

Just returned from a walk in suburbia.

Even enjoyed the sign

Anyway enjoy your Sunday, it is back to the grind tomorrow.

Have a good oneā€¦

Morning all ā€“ Iā€™m back. Seems my account was suspended for making ā€œpersonal remarksā€. I donā€™t recall making any personal remarks! I am the first to admit that I have a weird sense of humour and would like to point out that my comments are always posted tongue in cheek and I never intend to cause offence,

What surprised me is that I received no communication to tell me I had been suspended, (only found out when I tried to log in) nor to let me know what the remarks were. There also appears to be no way to contact admin to find out. I did find out what that remark was when I was finally able to log in this morning ā€“ have to say I have read much more offensive remarks on threads. However, not wishing to be suspended again I will leave it there.

Still, onward and upward ā€“ I can now continue to enthral you all with the fascinating insights into my glamorous lifestyle

Rain and possible thunder storms are forecast for today but at least it isnā€™t cold

Love the pictures of clear blue skies Bruce

During my banishment I have finished cleaning the silver, sorted which horse brasses I plan to keep, ordered and received 5 more books (and read 3), been on a trip to Windsor with a group of friends and been on cat servant duty

Take care, have a great day

Good morning - A warm and sunny day ahead. Another noisy Sunday afternoon expected, maybe noisier than usual with a few extra family turning up in honour of Mrs mart. She aged another year last Friday. There will be cake and bunches of flowers.

Donā€™t worry weā€™ve all been suspended at some time for something the only annoying thing there is no badge for it :icon_wink:

Ha ha!

A friend visited from the UK during the millennium drought - at the end of their visit (five weeks I think) the only comment about their return was that they were looking forward to seeing a cloud.

Good morning everyone, beautiful sunny September morning, clear blue sky, no humidity and not too hot, it will be later though. Autumn is still a long, way ahead. This month is usually one of the best times of the year, in our zone. A ā€œnormalā€ Summer .

Just a song to celebrate first day of the month:

Neil Diamondā€™s September Morn. What a great artist!

I can believe that - being British we are never happy with the weather. I recall being in Australia when the temperatures were in the 30s - my nephew laughed when he saw I had a cardigan with me - I told him ā€œIā€™m British - itā€™s what we doā€!!

Thanks Rose - it is good to be back - will curtail my sense of humour and be very careful what I post in future!

Good morning everyone.

Itā€™s good to see you back @SheilaP I thought you had deserted us! Lovely photos @Bruce itā€™s odd to think that as you are entering Spring we are getting ready for Autumn - the nights are drawing in to prove it too. Happy birthday to Mrs mart @mart have a great day with the family. That Neil Diamond song is one of my favourites @Rose2 thank you for adding it to the thread!

I have just been out on the dog walk and saw several folks out with their pooches. Also, they were setting up for a cricket match on the playing field so I might pop up again later to watch some of that - Test Match allowing of course, though I think the result of that is inevitable now.

It was all excitement in the family on Friday evening because my older son had put his name into a ballot for tickets to see Oasis at Wembley next July and had obtained 4 tickets! The tickets went on general sale yesterday and were reportedly sold out by the end of the day so my son was very lucky. I must admit I donā€™t know my Oasis from my Blur but am happy for my son!

I intend to make some apple crumbles today with the apples from my Bramley tree - I shall then freeze them. Iā€™m not too fond of cooking for one but needs must if I donā€™t want the apples to rot!

Have a happy Sunday!

Not normally what I would describe as ā€œmy kind of musicā€ but Hot August Night is still one of my favourite LPs

Yes Iā€™ve been reading about the Oasis ticket mania, not my sort of music, my tastes go more or less up to the eighties. . Happy for your son @MargaretF , I bet heā€™s thrilled.

Good Afternoon from Foxyā€™s Worldā€¦
Been a bit down in the mouth just lately and being unable to do my usual morning walk.
I had a fall and hurt my back, itā€™s since turned into a painful and stiff knee (dunno why) so Iā€™m grounded.
Fortunately with the use of Ibuprofen (Iā€™m not supposed to take it) I was able to manage the nine mile walk from Hornsea last Thursday, but I posted it in ā€˜Bobs Bitsā€™ so hardly anyone saw itā€¦
Anyway, I managed to cycle round an eight mile route yesterday without too much aggro, but the early morning attempt at walking hasnā€™t gone too well and I had to return home after just one mile.
Off to find a jigsaw to do nowā€¦

Sorry to hear about your fall @OldGreyFox, yes, ibuprofen is a good pain relief as long as we donā€™t exaggerate. Take it easy, have lots of rest and I hope youā€™ll be back in form soon.
Sending you all the best.

Good morning from the sunshine state!

@SheilaP, itā€™s good to have you back and posting! That whole thing is likewise a mystery to me!

@Bruce, your photos of nearby suburbia remind me a lot of the low-lying suburbs in Hawaii, with low-pitched roofs and similar foliage. Is that an orchid variety? It looks exotic from my Florida eye. Nice place.

@Rose, you inspired me to pop on Hot August Night with ā€œHoly Holyā€ playing now. I am with Bruce that it is an outstanding record. It reminds me of my mom who was a Diamond fan.

Congratulations to your son, @Margaret. I am sure it will be a memorable concert.

@OGF, I just happened to find your latests posting in Bobā€™s Bits just before writing here. I am sorry to read about your fall. If you feel frustrated with your sofa timeout, just remember that the overlooked benefits of running is the positive impact it has on bone density, which translates to a much lowered risk of broken bones with falls. I know that is hardly a consolation when you are left achy, but your lifestyle may have saved you from a more serious injury. RICE, RICE, RICE! :sunglasses:

Well now that I have been giving already well-known health information, I am off to do some paddle boarding before the sea breezes turn me into a sail heading toward Cuba.

Have a very nice day!
