Happy New Year!
A brand new year. For me, it started off with a storm which was nice timing because it probably reduced the amount of fireworks here for the moment.

Yes, back in hospital ,in by ambulance yesterday afternoon.

A quick bit of dog shopping this morning, then after lunch her friend from our time in London, and his gf, will do a video call from Italy. He used to fuss her through the railings whenever he walked past, and we became friends, sometimes we went for walks together, just so he could experience that closeness to a dog again. They moved to his home country not long after our move to Suffolk.

Did anybody go out celebrating last night?
At one time we would have been out till 3.00am at least but those days are long gone.
We snuggled in bed & watched the bongs & fireworks on TV.
Tony & I may go a walk to our local car dealers this afternoon - it’s only half a mile away.
I’d like to see if there’s anything I like. I will only be looking - not buying!!

It’s cold, wet, windy & miserable here so I’ll just potter about indoors
The fridge, freezer, and cupboards are well stocked with food, including the ends of Christmas stuff so I’ll work out a sort of plan of using up the fresh/chilled items before I do any more shopping

I didn’t touch a drop last night, I’m not being pious it’s just that I didn’t fancy any. I watched Aqua Man on the box with my son, silly but fun.
Just going to get involved in a bit of housework this morning, chicken wings in the air fryer for lunch and a honey glazed gammon joint for dinner.
I’ll let my hair down and have a hobgoblin at eleven and a couple of glasses of red tonight while we watch Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining on Blu-ray

Last night I was tucked up in bed by 10.30 asleep before 11 
Out with dog early this morning didn’t see a soul …I had the brand new year all to myself .

Sorry to hear that Swimmy, I hope you’ll feel better soon.
What started as a sunny morning has turned into a dull and drizzly day again.
We have been invited to our daughter’s house this afternoon for a buffet later on. Looking forward seeing the family but I’m not hungry in the slightest.
