Grey and misty here on the south coast. Not much exciting going on here. We were supposed to be out looking at Christmas decorations, but then Mrs G decided she needed to look for new clothes, so that was the day catered for. So today, its a quick visit to the recycle centre to drop off some junk, coffee, then off to the shops to look at Xmas decs. May actually decide to sit down and watch a film later, no idea what. We pay for a load of subscription channels, but for some reason, never seem to get round and watch any of them.
Morning all – a cold grey wet start to the day (the weather not me!)
Neighbours are due back this afternoon so cat duty finished after giving her breakfast this morning. She has behaved herself (mostly). She didn’t want to go out this morning (don’t blame her!) so they may find a gift from her when they arrive home
Had problems with my mobile phone yesterday – changed my plan with my provider and as a result anyone ringing me either got the engaged signal or told to leave a voice message! Spent an hour on the phone with their technical department and I think it is now all sorted
No real plans for today – Sunday is a day of rest!
Good morning - I have finished putting the washing away that I did yesterday. The dehumidifier did a good job on most of it but some still had to go in the tumble-drier to finish the job. The weather for drying outdoors is probably gone until next Spring.
I’ve put some clothes in a bag for this afternoon’s hospital visit as Mrs mart could be discharged tomorrow.
I splashed wood preserver on a new fence this morning before the forecast rain starts. I didn’t get it all done and will have to wait for the next dry spell to finish it.
Bloody technology…Pah!
Set off for my walk/run this morning and my ‘Sport Active’ didn’t work. I got a message that I couldn’t read because I never take my glasses out on a walk, so I don’t know what it said until I got home…It was telling me to make sure the battery power saver on my phone was switched off, otherwise the App won’t carry on working in the background when you turn off the screen.
Later…Sat down to breakfast and no internet… After checking just now, it was found to be the wi fi, it works fine with the ethernet cable plugged in but that’s in another room and the router is up in the loft so I’ll go up and reset it later.
Had a great walk/run though and knocked over a minute off this years best time that was set in February…Must be doing something right.
Tablets to sort out for the week now, and catch up with F1 qualifying and sprint race coming from Las Vegas. Those Americans are lots of hours behind us, so the race proper is on in the early hours of Monday morning…I’ll be watching a recording of a recording (highlights) other than the TV licence I won’t pay to watch anything on subscription TV…Life’s too short.
@Mart, it’s encouraging to learn that Mrs. Mart will be released and home soon. It’s by far and away the best place to recover!
I imagine that was an enjoyable evening @Bruce, with all the draw to screens, a family dinner is still the best way to catch up and make memories. Two roundabouts have been installed here in the last two years, and they still confuse a lot of people. If people would signal their intention to leave the circles, it would help the overly hesitant to join the fray. I like them better than sitting at too-long traffic signals, but there is a bit of skill to it.
@Graham, your day sounds like another well-needed relaxing one. All these diversions can sure help.
@Sheila, phone settings seem to be the greatest challenge with phones these days. I finally gave in and replaced my antique, only to have the new one fail to ping for incoming messages.

@OldGreyFox, congratulations on your time! We both know it’s not the goal these days, but it sure is satisfying!
It’s an off day for running, allowing for a few more hours in the yard after everything dries out. A rainy front moved through in the night, spawning a few tornadoes through the South, but we are in good shape here.
Washing the dogs followed by preparing a “kitchen sink” pasta salad should round out this pretty Sunday.
Thanks Surfermom, although not a proper runner anymore, I just can’t resist wearing my stopwatch when I go out for my daily dose of mother nature and exercise.
It’s kind of reassuring to think that my heart is as efficient as it was a year ago…
It’s chucking it down here at the moment Surfermom, It’s been raining since lunchtime, after several weeks of settled dry weather. Unfortunately Rosie the cat has not seen rain before (just six months old yesterday) and is meowing to go out…It may sound cruel, but she might want to dig up the garden, or just dance in the rain…I’ll shout her in before I go to bed in half an hour.
