So statins that raise uric acid (the cause of gout) would probably cause me more side effects, as was the case following three weeks of intense pain. Plus the fact that I walk, run and cycle long distances, I would notice joint and muscle damage caused by statins more than someone with a sedate lifestyle.
And how many people who take statins actually know what cholesterol does?
Ever since my first heart attack in 2004 I’ve made it my life’s work to research and study heart problems and the effects of medication on the human body.
Statins seem to have always caused a lot of controversy. If you look on the internet you will find all sorts of different theories. I go with what I perceive to be reliable sources. I remember some time back after a blood test my salt level was low. My doctor said the likely cause was the type of statin I was on. He changed it to a different type and I have not had a problem since. As I said in my previous post I reckon statins have been good for me.
