Good Morning Sunday 15th September 2024

Good morning all on this very cool Sunday morning. I hope your weekend is going well

I am parked at a rest area in Coonabarabran, according to its sign it is the Astronomy capital of Australia. There is a very large optical telescope very near here.

Another 200+Km to Morree I am just having a bit of a break from driving after just under 200km since leaving Gulgong

A map

I better keep moving.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, keep warm…

Good morning and happy tripping Bruce.

I was looked after well in hospital but it was still nice to get a good long sleep and wake up in my own bed this morning. I’ll miss the food and waiter service though.

A bit chilly overnight. The temperature outside is 10ºC at present but it’s supposed to rise to about 18ºC later. Only 16ºC indoors come to that. I suppose we’ll have to let the heating spring into action soon.

I was thinking of making more use of the dehumidifiers this year as they keep the moisture in the air down while giving off some background warmth. They have to be the desiccant type to do this.

Not much happening today but we expect the usual family visitors later.

Have a good day.

Morning all – cloudy with some sunshine this morning

I assume you must like driving Bruce! For me it is a necessary evil due to the public transport system here being so dire!

Glad you are back home Mart: nothing better than sleeping in your own bed!

Beastie fooled me this morning, I thought she had left no gifts and was busy telling her how good she was when I noticed she had thrown up on one of the conservatory chairs! No cuddles demanded this morning although she did keep me waiting until she decided to go out. I think I may be taking my duties too seriously, I gave her breakfast before I had my own!!

Had a long over the fence (or rather an across the driveway) chat with my lovely Italian neighbour. yesterday

Nothing exciting planned today – just some ironing and then relaxing reading my book

Take care – have a lovely relaxing day

Good morning forum people!

Hat’s off to you Bruce, yet another adventure :slightly_smiling_face::+1:
A chill but wonderful morning, couldn’t resist an early stroll to pick some wild blackberries. Oh dear, the season is over, never mind it’ll soon be fungi time.

No work today, I’ll just be making some delicious savoury snacks , listening to a few chapters of my current audible book on Amazon , one happy bunny!

Have a terrific day forum people! :sun_with_face:

Great adventure Bruce, if I lived in Aus I probably would be doing exactly the same thing, but more to escape the hum drum and false facade of modern life and just find some space.

I’m glad your stay in hospital was brief and comfortable Mart, but you can’t beat yer own bed…
:sleeping_bed:
I have to admit that I’ve been putting the heating on for an hour before going to bed just lately, for some reason I seem to be feeling the cold more, and its not even winter yet…
I’ve also being putting on the dehumidifier in the mornings as it’s been reaching 77% and some slight condensation on the inside of the windows in the room where I sleep…

13 degrees C outside this morning, and it didn’t feel so cold since the wind had dropped. It was an ideal time to get out the bike and speed around my 15 mile route out in the country. I think I must have only seen two cars during the whole of the ride. Although not a best time, it was super fast for me, and I felt comfortable and strong putting in some decent sprints.
:biking_man:
Had my porridge and Mrs Fox has just presented me with a toasted crumpet with lashings of butter (clover spread actually, got to look after my figure) so it’s shower time and jigsaw duty while Mrs Fox burns the chicken in the oven…
:rooster:
Nice photos Chilli, I guess that’s it now for blackberries until next year…Can’t say I’m too fussy about the fungi though…

Oooh no Foxy!
I wouldn’t recommend having that variety of mushroom in your fry up, you’ll be going on a trip alright although rather different from Bruce’s I’d imagine!

I’ve had my electric fleece on in bed for the past few nights, bliss! :first_quarter_moon_with_face:

I’ve had to put the heating on to warm up the crypt of a bedroom I sleep in because Mrs Fox is no help at all, she sits up all night watching TV and drinking red wine…
:wine_glass:
Says it’s medicinal…
I am partial to a nice mushroom with my fryup occasionally…
:yum:

No mushrooms involved I hasten to add, enjoy your day my friend, not that I’m suggesting it could be your last…

A jolly good Sunday morn to all, a most lovely morn it tis.

It’s not that we spend five days looking forward to just two. It’s that most people do what they enjoy most on those two days. Imagine living a life where every day are your Saturdays and Sundays. Make every day your weekend. Make everyday a play-day …”

James A. Murphy,

Have a safe and wonderful Sunday

Your picture on berries brought back a story. On a hike through a city park trail, my friend picked some berries off the ground level bush and gave me one to try. After putting the berry in my mouth and crunching down, it was good by the way, he then proceeds to tell stories of dogs using the restroom on berries. That was probably the only time I’ve had a spit out reflex
