Good Morning Sunday, 14th September 2025

Good morning everyone on this pleasant enough Sunday. It is not really that warm, I am still wearing my cardigan.

Took my drone out for a fly this morning in the garden for me to get used to the controls which I have changed from the default. It looks very much like a frog in my opinion. The camera seems to be pretty good.

Because of its sensors it get quite twitchy when you get near it, flying it close to the ground also makes it twitchy, far more than the old one. I took some video when it was about 1 meter high and you can see how anxious it gets when it flies close to an obstacle…

Have been in the garden spraying the clover but am thinking of getting the mower out later, the sun is drying out the ground nicely after all that rain

Enjoy the remains of the weekend

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Yet another cold damp start to the day, with the added forecast of gale force wind this evening.

I have a drone, left in this house when I moved in.

It is quite an expensive one with a decent camera but because it weighs over 250 grams, it can’t be flown in built up areas etc.

They are quite heavily regulated here in the UK, but that doesn’t stop them being used a lot to get contraband into prisons.

Cleaners are here for 3 hours today, always good company and food.

Have a nice Sunday and take care.

Morning all

Bit of a grey start to Sunday here on the south coast. Not much happening today, I had a photoshoot booked for today, but was postponed for a few weeks for various reasons, which means I’m at a bit of a loose end.

Will probably go for a cream tea at our local garden centre and tonight may have a Chinese takeaway - something we’ve not had for a while. In between all that, I’m at the mercy of a large coffee and possibly a chocolate muffin.

Have a great day all…

:cupcake: :coffee: :grinning:

Good morning all,
Nothing much for today, it was raining since the morning. I went out to the street, looking for something to eat. Then I drove to another house. Nothing to do much beside answer the letters from friends around the world via app slowly. This application is helping me to connect with good friends from every country. So, I won’t be too lonely by this age.

Good morning!
A bit dull, but dry

I got up a bit late today so I’ll do last night’s washing up, have a shower, then a brunch

The job for this afternoon is to parcel up some calendars to post to friends & relations in the USA & Canada

Morning/afternoon everyone…Borderline today…
Very nice clear sunny morning but devilish cold, just 8 degrees C still in the shorts but thermal vest and jacket together with gloves and hat. I ran out of my socks today and finished just 4 seconds outside the years best time for my 5 mile course. The temperature had risen to 13 C by the time I got home and I was too warm in the jacket…But what can you do?
Drone looks good Bruce, interested to see how the video’s come out…

Hello all!

…Saucy Sunday anyone?

If so what should the topic be? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Good afternoon everybody. It’s still technically summer but I’m making one hell of an autumnal roast in this murky weather! Will smugly post pics when it’s done :smirk:

@Janicelain I quite liked your last suggestion of people saying what their favourites stories so far have been (mainly because I missed a ton!). I’ve got to say Mick’s wife’s one gave me a guilty giggle (the poor schoolgirl on the train one!).

Hope the cream tea was splendid @Graham

@OldGreyFox I NEVER have enough socks, haha!

@Bruce Now that is a fancy drone, incredible!

Hope everyone’s having a splendid tail end of the weekend. Carly x

I like your frog, Bruce! I have a drone sitting in a case that I still haven’t opened. I will take your mention as inspiration to give it a go.

Holy cow, Rob! What a pleasure to check in to find you back on the walking and running course again. You remain an inspiration.

It sounds like an otherwise cozy day in other parts around the world. It’s equatorial-hot here, but you know how much I love summer. I’ve been doing yard work all morning, so I am treating myself with a nice beach walk.

Take care :hugs: and keep in touch: kahakainalu@gmail.com

Thank gawd you’re back @Surfermom! (why is it I always want to call you “Supermom”)

Where have you been?

I keep changing the settings on my drone so am not very good at flying it

Actually, I have been hanging around in the Commonwealth for some time and when home, keeping at bay the storms that the universe keeps pitching my way.

Good heavens, there are settings to manage on the drone? I just recently reprogramed my universal remote control and felt like I was short a college class or two in navigating my way through that.

There are two levers that cotrol the drone, in my opinion the default settings are illogical. I wanted one to control forward, backward, left, right the other to control up down, turn left, turn right. The mode to get that also swaps the controls up down to the other stick rather than the left right which I expected.

It is just a matter of getting used to it. The rest of the settings I left as default because they either suit the limits unregistered craft are limited to or they suit me.
