Good Morning Sunday, 14th June 2026

Good morning all, the sun is shining at the moment so it is a nice cool winters day, again in the low 20s - I am beginning to wonder when winter is going to kick in, even the grass is still growing.

What a difference from this morning! It looked overcast when I set out for my morning walk so I put a folding brolly in my back pocket. About 2ks into my walk it started raining, not very heavy but enough to have made me very damp if I hadn’t had my umbrella.

By 10am the sun had come out again so all was well with the world.

It is only just over a fortnight until I set off for Europe so I have been making lists of things I must do before then. This morning I sorted out the cash I am going to bring with me and made a list of the cards I need to take (driving licence, Opal, credit etc). I expect the time will fly. Next time I am in Wollongong I will change some cash for pounds just in case I need some when I arrive.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Take care

Good morning everyone, hope you’re all waking up to a bright Summer’s day like we are over here. This is the Summer I like, none of that humidity yet, very hot but the cool mornings are great for spending time outside in the yard cleaning up and doing odd jobs.
As we approach Summer solstice, I already noticed last night at 9pm it was still broad daylight. Beautiful

June is the month when our countryside lights up at night with all those little flashing insects (lucciole) flying around ,which I think you call “fireflies”. I thought they were called glow worms in English, but I looked it up and I believe they are called glow worms only when they are at the larva stage. Just a bit of entomology research, first thing in the morning.

So like I’ve just said, before the heat sets in, I better get on with scrubbing down the terrace floor and sweeping up all the fallen leaves of our magnolia tree in my front yard, and anything else I spot! I’ll have to start using insect-repellent soon for those nasty mosquitos.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Morning all!

A lovely sunny morning here, I can still smell the mown grass on the green opposite after the council cut it on Friday.

Just a mellow day of doing things at home which is nice. I’ve been promising myself that I’ll get to grips with making those spicy, chilled kidney bean burgers, something for this evening I think :hot_pepper::hot_pepper::hot_pepper:

Have a nice relaxing Sunday people!:sunglasses::v::sun_with_face:

Good morning all

I had a brilliant day at the Theatre yesterday , didnt know what to expect , The Stage was made into a Pub called the Jungle , and free drinks was given out before the play started and during the playtime cast were coming down into the audience bringing drinks .
Lots of singing by the Cast of 9 men, and lots of joining in by the audience .
It was the most joyous entertainment Ive been to . I was going to book again for today and go along with my Son , but it was the last Show last night and now they have gone on with their tour .

The day ended with someone running their car into my Sons car ,he’s not a happy bunny after only having the car a week .The offender said they would pay for the damage though .
Today theres a Picnic in the Park so weather permitting we shall go to that , I believe theres going to be a Band and stalls .

Enjoy your day what ever you’re doing…

Morning all – sunshine again this morning

Had the sad news that my brother-in-law passed away early this morning. He had been fighting cancer for several years but, as I mentioned in an earlier post, he suffered a stroke last weekend. He was my husband’s youngest brother and the one who was there for me when my husband died. I like to think he is now pain free and with his 3 brothers who went before him

As you can imagine, I’m not feeling up to doing much today so will just wish everyone a lovely day

Sorry to hear that Sheila. Life has it’s disappointments when you get to a mature age. When it used to be weddings and christenings, it now seems to be just funerals.
Sorry for your loss Sheila…
:hugs:
