Good Morning Sunday, 14th December 2025

Good morning all as we wind down the weekend. Warm and sunny today in the high 20s/low 30s.

Filled the washing machine with my dirty clothes early before going to the shops for onions and the things I forgot yesterday. Have already got it in.

Was looking through some video that I took yesterday and liked this pic of a skink, I think the full name is Common Garden Skink but while they might be common I think they are a very attractive reptile. They live a precarious existence as every dog that visits tries to hunt them.

I suspect that even though it is a nice sunny day I will be watching as many episodes of Parenthood as I can before it disappears (I presume at midnight).

That is the weekend done and dusted. Have a good one.

Take care…

Good morning everyone, fog, fog, fog and more fog, had enough of this “wet” cold, it really gets into your bones, even though temperatures are not so low, if feels like it’s below zero!

I finally got my new oven yesterday, I’ll try it out today, hope it lives up to my expectations. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve had construction work going on outside in my back yard, a brick wall being fixed to prevent it from falling down, most of the reconstruction has now been completed, builders are coming back next week for the finishing touches, I can’t wait for this to be all over.
I also had to get my giant fig tree trimmed down, the branches were leaning on the gazebo we use as a car shelter, they would have eventually caused some damage, too risky!

Any of you have any Christmas markets going on where you live? This year, we have one every weekend in our local village, taking place precisely in the courtyard of the 11th century castle. Lots of stalls, gastronomical delights, theatrical performances, light displays, and so on. I’ve visited once with my son, it was an extremely cold afternoon that day and I’d forgotten how steep that hill was, to reach the castle!

Wishing you all a great Sunday, just noticed that the sun is trying to come out, fingers crossed.

Hi

Good Morning All

Starting to feel better after my coronary event on Friday evening, I took one of my palliative care tablets, which are very strong.

An absolutely stunning sunrise this morning, the clouds were a brilliant bright orange.

It is the small things like that which really cheer me up.

I have recently got an Amazon Barclaycard.

It came with a 40 pound discount code which did work on my first Amazon purchase.

The idea was to use it for all my Amazon purchases and just pay it off in full every month with a direct debit.

I tried to use it this morning for an Amazon purchase and it was refused.

Most annoying and no customer service on Sundays.

A lazy day today, having to be careful moving so Shiv will be cooking for me.

Have a great day all.

Good morning!
Wet & windy & cold – y’know, like winter!

You might remember that my hobbies include knife making and leatherwork, yet I have done neither for months
So today I’m sorting & tidying my tools & materials to remind myself what I have, and hopefully to find them easier in the future, with a view to a more productive New Year

Morning all…

A bit of a grey day, but looks like its brightening up for later.

Today is some last minute shopping and running a few errands, but not before I’ve had my morning coffee. Not really a great deal going on, Mrs G is still trying to resolve a problem with BT and our mobile phone account, which has been dragging on for about seven months with no end in sight.

Apart from that, not much happening in this part of the world.

Have a great day all…

Good afternoon all!

Just a laid back kind of day for us which is just fine, contentment :slightly_smiling_face:
I’m coaxing a poster to lay flat before I hang it with a sticky Scotch adhesive hook…

One of the best and unique bands of all time in my humble opinion.
Not particularly cheery and festive though :christmas_tree:

Enjoy the rest of your day people :+1:

Ay Up from South Yorkshire… :039:
It’s brightened up a bit now but mostly rain on my early morning walk/jog. The good news was, that I never saw one person along the canal towpath and after a very cautious start of a jog I was surprised how good it felt, and carried on with some fast Pyramids…
Pyramids…
Starting off with a bit faster than steady, jog for the count of 100. Next, a faster run to the count of 90…Gradually reducing the count by ten, but increasing the speed.
This method doesn’t leave me knackered for the rest of the day because your hardest work is when you are at your fittest.
With still a couple of weeks to go until the end of the year, so far I’ve run and walked…738.5 miles with a 146.9 miles of cycling…

Hi

Your exercise regime is amazing, an example to others.

So many just give up on life after a heart attack however you last longer and have a much better quality of life if you do as much as you can safely.

I am now extremely limited in what my body can do but I feel much better mentally when I exercise as much as I can.

Keep it up OGF, you are an example that many should follow.

My daughter has a Joy Division t-shirt @Chilliboot, just like your poster, she bought it in her teens, she still wears it every now and then. :slightly_smiling_face:
