Went for my walk this morning, it was very pleasant not many people about and not much traffic. On my way to my favourite roundabout I discovered that the bus shelters have artistic pretensions.
Once I was home again and the dew had dried I started on my lawn mowing - I am off to Canberra tomorrow for my date with Pompeii - but I must have disturbed a pool of water hiding in a plant from the recent rains because the motor started to hunt then failed. I have left it in the sun to dry out but I hope that is the problem, there was a lot of water on top of the mower.
While I was/am waiting have watered all the pot plants, though I notice some are looking a bit sad. I really should sort them out into sizes because some I under water and some are over watered. My plants are generally OK but I am looking after some of my son’s while he is in Darwin (quarantine and all that) his plants are not used to my gardening technique. Ho hum.
Talking of my son, my trip to Darwin hangs in the balance because of the Queensland floods, still no way through at the moment. don’t want to go up the Stuart Hwy via SA, done that too many times recently, it is mostly desert.
Well, that is my morning so far, nothing exciting. Enjoy the remains of your weekend
A lovely sunny Sunday morning in Sussex. However it’s all change from tomorrow as rain moves in. That’s probably because there’s a bank holiday approaching
It’s a mellow day at home for us, the larder, fridge and freezer are nicely stocked so we’ll break out some savoury nibbles and snacks. Dinner tonight will be something more substantial
As no doubt I’ve mentioned before on the forum I’m not an impulse buyer. However I’m seriously tempted to sign my life away, well a year of it for the princely sum of thirty quid.
A sunny day in South Yorkshire.
I was out and about this morning before 8:00am and decided on my 5 mile route finishing the last couple of miles along the lane to see what the farmer had been up to…
They are supposed to be building almost 200 houses on this field, but the farmer has different ideas and thought he could get one more season of potatoes in before the bulldozers move in…I hope building has been refused but that’s just probably wishful thinking though…
I was quite surprised on my walk, I set off at a cracking pace and kept it up all the way round. The time was almost as good as if I’d jogged round and not an angina pain in sight, in fact, no problems at all…Yay!
Morning all – a bit overcast this morning although not cold so there’s that!
Planned to get up at my usual time of 7.30 but then decided I was too comfortable and finally managed to drag myself out of bed at 8.30!! Only just finished breakfast and now on my 3rd cup of coffee!
Sitting in the garden yesterday I noticed what I thought were lights in a tree which borders a lane behind the house – turns out it was a plastic bag caught in the branches which was reflecting the sun, (no I didn’t climb the tree to retrieve it!) Actually it looked very pretty!
Plan for today is to do the ironing I didn’t get around to yesterday a bit of light housework and then back to the new book. Not as good as previous books by the same writer, but I will persevere in the hope it improves (although as I am almost halfway through it not sure that is going to happen).
Hi Foxy,
Reading your posts I’ve discovered it was angina problems that has stopped you from running. Now you’ve traded your runnng for power walking. Good for you…
Good Sunday to all !
We went for our normal daily walk then came back for my tuna salad…solid white tuna on freshly made salad.
Just be reassured that at the moment, the Bot still needs final Human approval, but, Humans aren’t so on the ball and motivated as the bot, hence the delay, this is a necessary annoyance, immediate approval comes at a cost
In most cases (from personal experience), it could be just one word, taken out of context. If this happens, it’s probably better to delete the post, than hang about for said approval, that might only exaggerate the Bots feeling of self importance
Yes I think so Sheila…I was describing the edges around the lawn which we call B…ders
and my post went for approval.
Look to your post where you mentioned…“in a tree that ******** a lane behind”
I think that might be the offending word.
If it happens again, copy your post and re-edit it changing the word and it should be okay…
I’ve had a couple of heart attacks Chelsea. The first one was in 2004 and continued running half marathons. But following my second Heart attack in 2014 my family all decided that I should stop running competitively. I still continued to run locally just for enjoyment, distances up to ten miles. But by the time I reached 71 in 2021 I knew there was something wrong and sought professional advice. After some tests it was revealed that the scar tissue from previous heart attacks was interfering with my hearts electrics whereby I was fitted with a pacemaker/defibrillator and that spelt the end.
I had another heart attack in 2024 (there’s a pattern emerging here 2004 - 2014 - 2024?)
Apparently the 2024 heart attack was ‘Ischaemic’ so not actually a blockage.
Quote AI… Ischemia is a less-than-normal amount of blood flow to part of your body . This lack of blood flow means your tissues aren’t getting the oxygen they need. This can happen in various organs, like your heart and brain. Ischemia can lead to life-threatening conditions like heart attacks and strokes.
However…
I walk most days and still run when nobody is looking…
started on the front drive and got about half cleaned in about 3 hrs. time took getting the small weeds out from between the brick block paving. At least easier than using a wire brush tool for the job
will have to go overf it again wikth the karcher T5 racer then sand with silver sand. so a lot more to do syilli
our telephone could receive calls but not make them. Seems the company Community Services are using a new server and the old company Box Broadband installed equipment in all the houses in Bexhill on an old server.
so the engineers are rushing about putting upgade units in all the houses that had box broadband.
Wow foxy! Three heart attacks ten years apart ?
That’s serious stuff. Why would running be bad for it? Is it cause it causes the heart to beat faster?
I’m glad you are still getting out every day.
Do you still get ‘runners high’ from fast walkin?
Thanks Chelsea…
There’s not enough oxygen being transported to my muscles, so I’m in oxygen debt just minutes after starting to run now.
I can still walk though and get my fix of nature, and mobility is everything…
That’s good Foxy,
My husband and I walk together everyday…We have 2 small dogs that need walking daily. I feel blessed and grateful that I can walk everyday.
Have a good one.
