Good morning to everyone, haven’t seen @Bruce yet, so I thought I’d start the morning thread.
It’s grey and cloudy here today, yesterday evening we had rain. Forecast for the coming week doesn’t look good.
On a lighter note, it’s Mother’s Day here today so I’ll be taking a dish of oven-baked pasta round to my mum’s, so we can all have lunch together. I don’t want her to work too much, she has chronic painful knee joints, but she has made the second course - roast beef! I’ve bought some cakes from a nearby pastry shop, too.
Brother in law, his wife and another sister in law called in yesterday evening, had a very pleasant time chatting over a couple of glasses of wine. It certainly made a change to my usual Saturday night – sitting alone, eating junk food and watching TV!
As it is Sunday, a day of rest, I have very little planned for the day. A visit to the cemetery and then sitting in the garden reading a book.
Morning Rose and Sheila and all who follow…
Good on yer for starting the Sunday thread Rose…
Still very dry here with no rain to speak of since early April. I did my long 5 miler this morning with some running which produced a decent time, although I’m washed out now…
Beef is in the oven slowly cooking away and I’ll select a nice bottle of red from the cellar…
Half a glass will probably knock me out today…
After walking the length of the Humber Bridge on Friday we arrived at a very nice restaurant for lunch, it’s about a mile up the road and I spotted this in the gentlemans toilet…
Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 54…
Apparently many people have met their end by jumping off the bridge…
I reckon it’s because they are too young to become members of our forum…
I don’t think the bloke having a pee in the next cubicle was impressed with me taking photographs…
Morning all. I’m out with my good lady who has suddenly decided that she doesn’t have a thing to wear for our cruise next month and has dragged me on pain of death to a local retail outlet shopping centre to buy shoes and matching handbag. Next thing will be a new dress and all the rest of it.
I am afraid I have been out all day. For lunch I was at a family gathering with my prospective daughter in laws family. I think they could single handedly populate a small nation. This was just a small gathering of the Darwin contingent. It was a very enjoyable lunch.
The late afternoon and evening was spent at the Seabreeze Festival which celebrates the beginning of the dry season. (Taken with my phone0
The above sign is situated in the toilet… it’s that kind of pub!
And no, I’ll not be exchanging phone numbers Foxy!
Any self respecting TL2 simply doesn’t behave like that!!!
Busy with family matters this morning, plus I’ve washed the car …and washed the son’s car as well. That should have burnt off a few calories. Not much else to do today.
