Good morning Sept 2nd

Good morning everyone, overcast and dull here, pretty much the same as the last week in fact, and forecast for a few days yet apparently…

I am going flying today for an hour at Nottingham airport and then calling in for a pub lunch on the way home, a birthday present from Rosemary. I have a pilot’s licence but haven’t flown for a year or two so really looking forward to it.

Have a good day folks.

I will look out for you Barry the flight path comes over my way , , but with the grey day it is , I shall probably hear the plane before seeing it .

Morning Barry, Eliza and all who follow, yes, overcast and dull here as well, We may well be saying goodbye to summer for good now :frowning:

Granddaughter is here this morning after a sleepover last night. It was all very last minute and she was so excited to be staying over, bless her!

Off to Ikea later with our daughter and granddaughter for a little mooch round and to stock up on meatballs, haha.

Have a good day everyone

Have a good flight Barry
I had a flying lesson once but it didn’t grab me . I still have nightmares about not finding the landing strip

Good morning - A gloomy start to the day. It doesn’t look like it will get much better.

@Muddy Haha, no worries there today, the instructor can do all the navigating while I just enjoy the view.

Good morning everyone  off to meet my son and 5 grandchildren shortly for a walk , the children go back to school tomorrow .

I think we might be going for lunch afterwards but it is dull and chilly so not looking forward to sitting outside.
Enjoy your day

Hi

Good Morning All.

What a lovely present Barry, enjoy your day.

Cold and grey and not the best of nights.

On my own today, so taking it steady and will be making a big casserole.

Because of the shortage of trained butchers meat is literally being given away at the local meat plant.

I have just paid £4 a kilo for topside, £2 a kilo for skirt and brisket and the workers supplying it are making a profit on it.

Needless to say, the supermarkets are not reducing prices.

the littlies seem happy on the first day back, the 200ft crane is back again so not much will be done, they are fascinated by it.

Have a good day all.

Good morning everybody.

I’m spending most of the day at my sons house. They’re moving house next week & there’s lots to do.
Thank goodness Josh starts back school today. It will be easier to get on with things…

Later, I think we’re all going out for a meal.

Have a good day all.

Good Morning all :slightly_smiling_face: a bit of an autumnal nip in the air the morning.

I’m expecting my Sainsbury’s delivery later, looks like there are 4 items out of stock this week :worried:

Enjoy you day everyone!

Wheelie Bin day, today!

That’s Blue, Brown, Green + food bin.

Won’t be able to go shopping - thousands of wheelie bins out there on the pavements!

Oh! There’s also a note from the Council saying “Due to shortage of staff, your bins may not be emptied for, up to, 4 days, leave them out until they are emptied”

How efficient!

Morning all.

Ah Barry, I did ask in Chit Chat how long since you’ve flown. Have you kept current? Mine lapsed far too many years ago. Hope you enjoy it. Flipping expensive now, aren’t they, these lessons/hiring?

Good morning. Big shop today. Have a good day all.

@Jazzi I’ve not flown for ten years Jan, since my sixtieth birthday treat. I would love to keep current but the costs are way out of my league these days. I brought the PA28 in on final though, but chickened out of the landing and handed control back to the instructor… can’t be too careful and I didn’t want to bend it… :joy:

Since no-one else has noticed/said anything , I’ll sing this song to me:

Oh gosh, happy birthday Percy!! Hope you enjoyed your day.

Ah was that a tail wheel? I never flew those, preferring the C152. I think I’d have been scared landing it, but no qualms with the Cessna.

Thank you Jazzi. A quiet day surfing t’internet, reading the on-line newspapers, etc and generally relaxing.

@Jazzi No Jan it was a Piper P28 Archer, an aircraft which I’m not familiar with but it was the only four seater they had available, personally I would have much preferred my old Cessna 172…

I also flew the 172 several times, but personally preferred the 152.
