Good morning everyone,
Yesterday, while I was sitting in my house, I suddenly felt extremely dizzy. At first, I thought I was getting sick, but when I looked around, everything was shaking. I quickly ran out to the street. Most people were already outside of their buildings. The earthquake lasted around five minutes but was very intense. A building not far from my home collapsed completely. Nearly a hundred people died. Many ambulances came from everywhere. Today i felt better no more dizzy but things are still unforgettable.
Hi
So, so pleased you are Okay.
It has been so worrying not hearing from you.
This is a very strong and unusual earthquake to create so much damage so far away from the Epicentre.
You are hundreds of Kilometres away from the epicentre.
This particular form of Earthquake, being so strong and so close to the surface can cause a very dangerous thing called liquefaction , the earth goes soft and full of water hundreds of kilometres away from the centre.
Take care and I wish you and others well
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message and for worrying about me. I really appreciate it. I was in my workplace, I live there on the workdays too, so i call it ‘home’. Yes, it was such a powerful and unusual earthquake.
I was shocked at how far the effects were felt. I had no idea about liquefaction before, but now I’ve definitely learned something new and a bit scary! Thankfully, I’m safe, and today I’m starting to feel more grounded again. Wishing you all the best too, and thank you again for your kindness.
