Good Morning Saturday, 9th November 2024

Good morning to you all on this slightly damp Saturday.

I was out with the dog early and it was quite a nice morning, we had a very good walk.

Yesterday I received a new camera which I have been testing out over the last couple of days. RS assured me that it was pocket sized, all I can say is that he must have bloody big pockets. Anyway it has slightly revived my interest in taking photos and videos so I am grateful for that. If you are interested you can see it here:

Apart from that the rain has stopped, actually I probably exaggerated,it only lasted a few minutes so I can spend some time outdoors again.

Enjoy the weekend, have fun…

Hi everyone! About to get to bed, but in a habit of dropping in when I can to the morning chat.

After maybe 2 months now of Indepth virtual dog shopping, no dogs yet, however I have managed to win an auction and spend money on a painting, by a coworker, for a charity. Regardless of a slight up price, it felt great winning the bid.

now for about a 1/8 of the cost, painted by an eight-year old’s art teacher (for about briefly 2 minutes, I thought my daughter was going to be a protege painter before thinking…it has to be the teacher)

Now two tree pictures.

@Bruce, how’s the camera going? have seen several great canvas works of pictures blown up and looks rather impressive.

Have a super great weekend all!!! I look forward to tomorrow morning and catching up to the 9th!

Morning all – I won’t tell you what the weather is like as I am sure you can guess! :fog:

The organised firework display finished around 9.30 pm but someone decided it would be a good idea to have their own display around 11.30!! :rage: I have never been a fan of fireworks but accept many people enjoy them but I do think they should be limited to organised displays and not sold to the general public (whinge over!)

Sister in law is calling in later this morning – such a shame as I will be unable to carry out my plan to clean the shower room! :sob:That will have to wait until tomorrow

Not much else planned for today – some shopping for fresh vegetables and fruit

Take care – hope everyone has a great day

Good morning - I’ve made 80. The gang are all ready to come around later for the various take-away meal orders. I Have a few quiet hours to contemplate my navel before then. A chance to look out of the window at all the jobs that need doing that can wait a while.

Have a good day

I don’t mind this weather at all, November could be a lot worse.
However, rest day today so just an early Tesco shop and no dashing around the neighbourhood in me shorts… :009: I bet all the curtain twitchers are missing me…“Hey George! that dozy bloke hasn’t gone past today!”
:slightly_frowning_face:
Just going to have a look on google for this new garden centre I’ve heard about, I know roughly where it is, but ‘roughly’ doesn’t cut it with Mrs Fox, she’s known me too long…
I spent most of the day yesterday trying to tease a cable out of the loft and into the garden. I was successful in the end, but lofts weren’t designed for old blokes crawling around on their hands and knees. I don’t seem to bend in the places I used to bend in…

Thanks for the Birthday wishes everyone

I know that problem. Our place has only a 30 degree roof so it’s always quite an effort. There is a building at the bottom of our garden and I wanted to run a cable from the aerial distribution amp in the loft, around the sides of the garden and into the out-building. Definitely a job for a contortionist. I hurt all over the next day.

The other thing I wanted there was wi-fi. I tried all wireless and mains methods of transmission but none were reliable. Had to run a very lengthy outdoor rated cable from the router, out into the garage, out of the garage, along a water drainage gully up the side of the garden and into the building. Put a Wireless Access Point on the end of it. and all was well.

This was a second cable. The first one stopped working because a critter had chewed its way into it. The new cable takes a different route to the first. It lasts as long as it lasts.

Good dreary (but exciting) morning from Florida!

The surf was well up yesterday, died down around sunset, but is churning up again this morning. The kids put me to shame, but I had plenty of fun catching a few waves and paddling like a fiend. Today I am paying for it having to catch up with all the things abandoned yesterday, but it was worth memories made (even getting smacked around by the waves :laughing):

Nice peelers:

And Saturday again - and more bloody fireworks…(

I can absolutely empathise with that, getting down on my knees is not too bad but getting up again is a whole different matter. When I am under the car or camper I sometimes just lie there for 5 minutes knowing that getting out and up is going to be an effort

BTW I haven’t been in my attic for decades.

What a lovely photo. I rarely go near the sea these days even though I only live a little way away (and I never liked sand). If I do go I spend all my time looking for Pippis
