Good Morning Saturday , 9th August 2025

Good morning to everyone on this rather damp day, Had 5mm rain overnight and a bit more since.

It is actually arvo for @Psmith and myself but time just flies when you are having fun. ( @Bretrick has a couple of hours of morning to go)

Washed my cardigan this morning by hand and it is hanging in the car port out of the rain, that could well be the most exciting thing that happens to me today.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend a bit more than me, if it dries up a bit later I might try digging up some grass to move some flagstones into place.

Actually I have been learning a bit more about Paint dot Net this morning since I finally deleted the old PaintShop Pro from my computer in order to force me to learn.

Apart from that I might play a few games on my tablet and read more of my book.

Have a happy weekend.

Take care…

Morning all…Nice and sunny, but clouds are gathering, threatening rain later.

Not much happening today. We usually go out shopping somewhere on a Saturday, but Mrs G insists on catching up with chores today, so no idea what’s happening or when. The only real certainty is the arrival of my coffee and perhaps a sausage sandwich.

Take care all

So , so lovely to see you posting again.

You have been through horrendous times and back out stronger.

You are an inspiration Rip.

Please keep us entertained with the surprises your son gives you.

He obviously thinks the World of his Mum.

In a unique way male way.

Morning all – another overcast start to the day with the odd light shower but we are promised sun this afternoon

Had a lovely surprise this morning! Around 7 a.m. I heard a noise – thought it might be my boiler having a funny five minutes so got up to check but that was all fine, looked out the window to see several hot air balloons across the sky (the sound I heard was one of the pilots firing the burner!)

Heard from a friend yesterday, she has been unwell and her husband is also not in the best of health but she said she is feeling better so we have arranged to meet up at the end of the month.

I have been ignoring the ever growing pile of ironing but actually got round to doing it yesterday – so the plan today is to actually put it away! I need to do some grocery shopping then it is a well deserved rest and reading my book!

Take care – have a great day

So much rain here the sports fields are under water. Games had to be called off.
The Avon Descent white water race was threatened with cancellation but went ahead on this first day.

Mrs Fox hasn’t been feeling herself this week and experiencing flu like symptoms, she took to her bed yesterday…
:open_mouth:
She was feeling better this morning but not fit enough to do the Saturday shop at Tesco, so I did it solo…Brought home quite a few things we didn’t need, and forgot some of the things we do…
:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
One thing I did remember was the tin of corned beef for lunch, she didn’t feel up to going out so I’ll do some mash and bung some assorted veg in a pan…Quite the Gordon Ramsey aren’t I…
:yum:
Rest day today so no walk, but managed to hump the watering can round and water all the plants, lawn is getting brown and crispy though. Still a hosepipe ban around here, perhaps if the government in their wisdom hadn’t built so many houses without building more reservoirs, perhaps there would have been enough water to go around…

The problem with that Bruce is, you end up taking twice as long to get some work done when you have to relearn how to use the new programme…Life’s too short and space in the head is filling up fast, so use it wisely…Or else it will all become jumbled up…

There is an element of truth in that but my old Jasc Paintshop Pro 7 was getting very long in the tooth, I have been watching some You tube videos on the subject.and am getting familiar with the features that I actually use (which actually aren’t that many). Picasa 3 is still my main program for simple editing.

Rain would be so good right now, its just not happening here where i live in Canada.
Extreme heat and wildfire warnings abound and the only chance of change in the weather comes with hurricane season…not ideal!
The forecast is for another 10 days of hot ,dry weather. Provincial parks are opening their facilities for locals to shower and do laundry as wells run dry (46% of canadians have private wells for home water supply…i read that today…thats a lot!).
Being economical with water use is second nature now

Hello Assemble,welcome to the forum
I didn’t realize it got so hot there.
My cousin lives in Montreal and all she seems to complain about is the snow :grinning:

Welcome to the forum Assemble, a similar problem with the water here in Yorkshire but for a different reason. We have had a very dry spring and summer, granted, but practically doubling the amount of houses here, and with no new reservoirs for the increased demand, it doesn’t take a mathematician to work out what will happen… :009:

Alternatively…All the Wind turbines have blown away the rainclouds…I told you that you couldn’t get something for nothing…
