Good Morning Saturday, 6th December 2025

Good morning all on, hopefully the last day of the heatwave. On the bright side it is the weekend.

Went to see the doctor this morning to get a biopsy done on my head. Actually was very simple, quick chat to the doctor then down to the clinic procedure rooms where a nurse set all the equipment up. She phoned the doctor when she was ready, he walked down, gave me local anaesthetic and chopped bits off me, added a stitch or two, chatted for a few minutes and buggered off. Nurse returned to patch me up and I was sent home.

Have to go back in 10 days to see the doctor for the results and get the stitches out. It was all very easy and painless. I seem to recall the last time I had a skin biopsy many years ago the doctor didn’t bother with the anaesthetic and just cut a tiny bit of me off which stung like buggery!

Anyway it was very hot walking there and equally hot walking back (39°), can’t wait for the southerly tonight.

Annoyingly I received an invitation to lunch just as I was getting ready to go to the doctor but had to refuse because of this procedure.

Enjoy your weekend.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

I often think Bruce that you and I live in a parallel universe where your Health Service is infinitely better than that here in the UK.

We could learn a lot from Australia and others.

The UK is somewhat unique in our ability to mismanage large services, incompetence is rewarded by promotion.

What School you went to is far more important than your ability.

Biopsy waiting target times 28 days for urgent, 62 days for non urgent.

Some wait much longer.

I could go on, I very probably will, but start another thread about how bad in general healthcare is here in the UK.

Yet more rain due here today, even more tomorrow, so once again the town centre will be flooded.

I am going to be a busy Womble today, bothe my freshwater and marine tanks are not doing well.

The Water Company deny it, but there is a problem with the water supply.

Flushing the loo leaves black marks down the side of the bowl, not just on mine, but others as well.

The standard test kits show up nothing, so time to get my scientists head on and start testing for other things.

Have a great day all and stay safe.

Hello good morning all

It’s one of those stormy weather hang onto your hat days.
Thought I might step into Christmas and put the tree up later today, that should cheer me up I’m fed up with all this rain.
Thought you might like to see a photo of the coastal defence happening where I live in Hampshire.
It’s massive and wonderful.

Off to make my porridge.

Enjoy xxx

I wouldn’t say that Medicare is not without its problems.

At the moment I am surrounded by smoke not sure where it is from, I know a dozen houses have been lost on the central coast (couple of hundred kms north of me)

That is interesting. as bits of people’s property are swallowed up by the sea here, they are fined for piling up rocks to protect their land

Morning all…

Another grey and damp day here on the south coast. Not sure what’s happening today. Mrs G wants to finish the pre-holiday house cleaning today and there’s a couple of Christmas markets she wants to get round. Tomorrow is the big day for decorations, which usually takes two days to put up, although where I am, we’ll be the last ones in our street.

Have a great Saturday all…

:grinning: :+1:

Good morning - A sunny morning but I haven’t looked to see if that will change. I think it’s time to get the Christmas decorations and tree out of the loft and make a start on that.

I’m going to persuade our daughter to have a hack at my hair. That’s normally Mrs mart’s domain but she isn’t up to doing it at present.

I had some skin cancers removed from my body a couple of years back. They were the misshapen mole types rather than big lumps. One covered a fairly big area (11 stitches). Once diagnosed, they were all treated within a few weeks. Not too bad for time scale I’d say.

Have the best possible day.
