Good morning, Saturday 5th November 2022

Good morning,

Another great start with work. Have gym at 8, with kids to their activities a little later on, and a bit of shopping with the family.

Anyone celebrating Guy Fawkes? I intend to stay home, watch from my window, I can see the park from home, keep warm for the night. I shall no doubt have to clean up the debris and contend with the smoky morning, but all in the name of a bit of fun for a few minutes is okay for tonight.

Pets inside for the occasion.

Have a great one!

I think we switched weekends. Last weekend, everyone here was celebrating Halloween. This weekend, we’re switching our clocks back. Some of you are doing that on opposite weekends.

Morning all!

Weather is cool but still very nice. I gave up on the grocery delivery yesterday. I’ll have to work on that another day.

Have a play-filled day everyone.

Just drove 500km from Wauchope to Wollongong. I was going to stay in Newcastle tonight but when I got there felt like continuing on stopped a couple of times to stretch the legs but managed to arrive home after just under 5 hours driving.

Bruce strange town names,

Well Wollongong is obviously Australian, but Wauchope sounds like it could be from the Scottish Borders, and named by the early settlers.

Yes, I’ve just checked and Wauchope is near Hawick
I remember staying in a bothy in Galloway, that was originally a farm or a croft
There was a short history of the place, and the original family had emigrated to New Zealand in 1947 I think … or was it in the 1920s?
That sort of depopulation of Scotland, and other remote parts of England & Wales had been going on for decades.

Good morning!

I was up early today; still dark & raining when I set off for Sainsbury, but a surprising amount of traffic
Now I’ve done my shopping and I’m back home with a cup of tea
But I’ll be going out again into town with my bus pass

Good morning all  yesterday perfect day sunshine blue skies, had lovely time buying little gifts to pop into Christmas stockings for my 2 kiddos
Today miserable raining ! Just a short walk for me and dog .

Morning all. Wet up here.
Tuitions (one online, one face to face), trip to see daughter in hospital. That’s pretty much my day done.

Good evening, all

My eldest niece’s birthday today Kate is 30 where has time gone; when did the little girl who hid behind curtains and under rugs turn into a smart yet still enchanting, endearing and much-loved young woman; with a partner who adores her (he has taken her away this weekend for her birthday) a house of their own they got the keys this week -lots of saving. And on the up in her career a much-loved young lady we are all so proud.

Anyhow “proud praise” aside a nice day here cold and wet but still a nice day bits and pieces from my list done. Roast chicken, sprouts, mash, roasters and stuffing for late lunch early dinner as at work tomorrow.

Hope you are all having a great day.
