Good Morning Saturday, 4th April 2026

Good morning one and all on this yet another overcast day after 4mm of rain overnight.

On my walk the morning I noticed a lot of flying foxes in a grove of trees next to the freeway, I will probably go back another day and take a camera, my phone is not really up to this sort of thing.

On the way home I called into the supermarket to get milk for the long weekend and found 500gm tins of Nescafe Blend 43 were on special for $22 (normally $32) so I bought a couple to tide me over.

Tomorrow at 2am the clocks go back with the end of daylight savings, gawd I hate daylight savings, I can see some advantage when you live near the Arctic Circle but not here. I wish NSW would follow Queensland and just not bother with it or, at the very least, reduce it by a couple of months.

Anyway that is my whinge for the day, just ignore me and enjoy your long Easter weekend.

Take care…

Morning all…

Welcome to a wet and miserable holiday weekend on the south coast, typical of it being a Bank Holiday.

Can’t say there’s much going on today, there doesn’t seem to be anything in the way of Easter fairs or anything else near here to go and look at, apart from going round the usual shops. The wet weather also means there’s nothing interesting to get my camera out for. Had the weather been better, I wanted to go to a local woodland and get a bluebell shot, as they are in bloom at the moment, but I’m not getting down in the wet mud to get it (so sayeth the wife!).

The only thing to look forward to is the wife did buy a stash of chocolate bunnies, which I will happily consume later tonight whilst watching the telly.

Have a good one…

Good morning all.

I noticed the same @Graham not much going on other than Easter Egg hunts for the Children.

Ive made my picnic lunch , well its just a Cream Cheese and Cucumber , it is Luxury Cream Cheese with French Sea Salt , So I am making it something special .

And my destination today is Nottingham Castle , which does not resemble a Castle at all after it was burnt down in the 1800s and rebuilt . It now house the Museum . along with 2 Cafes , although Ive ever only found one , the other is somewhere on the upper floors .

I will get in for free after paying my one time entry almost a year ago , which is good value I think, it will need renewing in May , hence my going today to get my moneys worth .

I shall saunter round the Art gallery and the 1800s fashion and go further up the floors and look at the Military uniforms and medals . I use to like the China and pottery section . but not seen that in a couple of years .
In the medal section theres a VC to a ww1 soldier with the same surname and came from the same area as my FIL family . Im sure there must be some family connection .
And in the Art gallery a painting of an ancestor from my fathers family …

The weather here is dry and overcast , but its warm enough to sit outside now .

Well I must get on , Have a Happy Easter weekend

Happy Easter Everyone…
Been and done the early Tesco visit and called by the local butchers for the months meat…
A nice selection of Chicken, beef, beef pieces, pork steaks, and some chopped pork pieces.
:yum:
It’s dry but cool and strong winds are forecast for later…Storm David Apparently.
Just waiting for the daughter to arrive with her hubby and then off for lunch to a kid unfriendly garden centre.
The one I fancied will be ‘Chock O Block’ with prams, pushchairs and ankle biters…It’s not that I don’t like kids (I used to be one) but they can be a bit rowdy…

Hi

Good Morning All.

Housebound as I am, I like reading all about what you are upto and your trips out.

I am trying to be able to walk again and the physios tell me for every week in bed it takes two weeks to be able to walk even a little way.

I have a problem with algae in my reef tank, so will be.trying to work out what is causing the problem.

At least I am keeping my brain active if not my body.

Have a good day all
