Good morning on a cool, wet day. Had 10mm of rain in the last 24 hours which was welcome and there is supposed to be a storm this arvo. The temperature is OK in the mid to low 20s.
Tomorrow all this rain is supposed to disappear, presumably on its way to Kiwiland, and the sun will shine for the rest of the long weekend.
I am thinking about buying a new 3D printer, I have had the old one for a number of years and it is starting to show its age. A new one will cost no more than the old one did but is a bit more versatile. To be honest I am having trouble getting some parts for the old one, everyone seems to be out of stock of the ribbon cable I need to replace.
A bit early for rummaging on a Saturday morning I know, however, being someone who finds it challenging to sit still for more than ten minutes rummaging it was!
Lo and behold, in a bag of old stuff
Battery hungry ( 8x AA) and really pretty damn useless these days. I suppose I could splash out on a longer super gainer rubber duck but still largely pointless.
A very odd time of year to sow annuals but I have a plan!
These left over nasturtium seeds will go in a smallish pot of compost on the windowsill. The young plants will supply leaves/garnish for sandwiches, robust rustic types of bread being the order of the day. I’m thinking roast beef with horseradish sauce!
Enjoy that new printer Bruce, technology does seem to become redundant rather quickly these days!
A cloudy start to the day here by the seaside, may brighten later.
Not much to say about today. Taking the wife shopping again, something to eat later and followed by yet more shopping. Really want to get out with my camera sometime, but I don’t see the chance coming anytime soon, although I do have a studio session booked at the end of the month. I haven’t managed to get to the bird conservancy to use my new lens this year and I want to go before the end of the season and while the weather is holding up. On another note, I may be ordering some hardware to get my old DV camcorder hooked up to my PC to download a stack of old home movies, something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.
Good morning!
Bright, sunny, almost cloudless blue sky
I amused myself yesterday afternoon by sorting my trousers into 4 categories -
Jeans
Thin polycotton, which were packed away for the winter
Lined polycotton, transferred from storage (a plastic box in the corner of my bedroom) to a wardrobe
Proper trousers - corduroy, wool mixture, and so on
They grow en masse at the bottom of my garden every winter presumably with the seeds from the previous year. I like the leaves in cheese sandwiches. I haven’t actually planted new ones for donkeys years.
Hopefully in the same spot this summer my chilli plants will revive accompanied by some new seeds I have planted.
