Good Morning Saturday, 29th November 2025

Good morning to you all on the penultimate day of the month. It is warm (high 20s, low 30s) and fairly humid at the moment (about 50%) with a northerly breeze

I suddenly remembered it is my youngest son’s birthday tomorrow so have hurriedly got a card to send. As he is in Darwin it will take a week to get there. Ho Hum… I will ring him in the morning.

Been a busy bee this morning, first I farewelled my daughter on her way back to Canberra then got the whipper snipper out. Cleared the patch behind the garage of all its weeds then went round all the edges inside and outside the garden - took me well over an hour.

I am sure all the workers are enjoying the weekend, it is another day of extreme fire danger for me with wind and thunderstorms predicted for later (that’s why I didn’t clear the grass clippings I hope the wind will do the job for me)

Anyway enjoy the weekend what ever you are up to.

Take care…

seeing yesterday post about your windowscreen on your vehicle . How many times have I said love your local Kangaroos and they will give up throwing stones at it.

Joking apart we seem to get what appears to be dust scratches on our cars. So I bought a professional car glass polishing machine to get rid of them. From what I undestand the screens are made using a new or different method now making the glass
“softer?”

Saved a lot of trouble/ money getting someone else to replace or do this for us

Morning all…

A bit of a grey start to the day here in southern Hampshire. Not really a lot going on, wife wants me to get the cases down from the attic and maybe start packing for our trip to New York in a few weeks time. Possibly make a start on putting up decorations, A little early in the day to know for sure. I may have to do a bit more shopping.

Have a great Saturday…

Hi

Good Morning All.

A real change in the weather, heavy rain and much colder.

I am determined to move a little, so a lot of water testing to do, some of my corals are not opening.

The weight is going on due to weeks of immobility, so having to start a diet.

I love my food, so dieting is a real pain.

TV is rubbish at the moment, so will be online brushing up on my language skills, starting with Malayalam and Tagalog.

Languages spoken by many of the nurses in my local hospital.

The filipinos and Keralians.

They speak them to each other when they don’t want patients knowing what they are saying.

All good fun.

Enjoy your day.

I like to know what they are saying, very interestingl at times.

Good morning!
Cloudy, dull, but dry and not too cold

Nothing much planned for today, just general tidying & pottering
If I feel sufficiently motivated I might clean the kitchen floor

Am I the only one who loves this sort of weather, still dark at 7:00am and chucking it down with rain, as it has been most of the night, and lots of standing water on the roads and the car park at Tesco. I don’t think there is any weather that I don’t like, although some is less favourable for walking or running in, like three day old snow, or sheets of ice when the temperature soars below freezing…But rain is most acceptable and I’ve produced some of my best performances on rainy days.
I’ve never done it, but I reckon running naked in the rain would be quite an experience…Perhaps I’ll put it on my ‘bucket’ list…Only when there is nobody about obviously…
:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
I did manage to file the sharp edge off my tooth Bruce, but another side fell off while I was doing it. Fortunately it was the side with the sharp edge on it…so just a quick file of the broken edge (which was on the opposite side to my tongue) and Bob’s yer uncle…
It’s not about the money Bruce, but the dentist would have probably taken it out or suggested some root canal work, that’s if I could get in to see him at all… :open_mouth: Not bloody likely…
I am due a visit next year, so we’ll discuss it then.

Mrs Fox and me are meeting the rest of the family at garden centre for lunch, it’s right the other side of town and a bitch to get to, so I’d better get me skates on…Toodle Oooo!

Good afternoon all! :cloud_with_rain:

Grey skies and rain, like viewing the world through tupperware!
Into the gym, shoulders today :+1:
Unlike Foxy I shan’t be considering training naked, there’s always someone around in the gym and I don’t relish the thought of catching myself between a couple of dumbbells! :open_mouth:

Popped into Iceland on the way home for some of my favourite spicy Primula :hot_pepper: and scarpered out of town pretty sharpish. It’s already getting manic with festive Christmas shoppers :christmas_tree:

Enjoy the rest of your day people! :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Good morning from the chili south!

@Eliza, how wonderful you’ve been out doing to concerts, shows, and costumes! It’s such a nice time of year for such things. I was rooting around Sting’s tour dates; my daughter is a tremendous fan, so I am thinking about taking her to a concert next summer. I don’t know how that man travels and performs at such an unrelenting pace! I’ve never seen a Bollywood show in person and imagine that will be spectacular!

@Graham, I hope your NY travels have some music or play on your list of things to do. I have to say that you two are braver than I traveling there this time of year. It sounds like your wife is very excited about the trip; the preparing is half the fun!

@Bruce, your yard work has me wondering what you do about watering when you are gone?

@swimfeeders, I am holding my breath for your corals; I know they are remarkable, but also sensitive. I share your pain in the dieting. After feasting this last week and a family wedding in a few weeks, I am counting calories for a few weeks and doubling up on the strength workouts.

Speaking of which, @Chilliboot, now that’s the way to rack up the weights! As I have mentioned before, and the more noble it becomes every year, I cover up as much as is humanly possible in our heat and humidity as a public service; I consider it my duty to save others from my potentially visually polluting the surroundings .

@OldGreyFox, good heavens! I thought you were joking about that tooth. It’s a bit of dental Russian roulette you are playing there! As it were, I have the joy of having a root canal on Wednesday. Fun times! :tooth: My dentist is my favorite specialist; if I could have my teeth cleaned four times a year, I would. Now as for running conditions, my demands are two - no more running on ice, which I did up until I slipped and fell in 2019, and in the direct sun when the temps are over 95 degrees and 85% humidity. My hypothalamus is now committing rebellious mutiny when I make that effort  :exploding_head:

@realspeed, I’ve been eyeing a similar kit (without the polisher) to try to remove some etching on some marble countertops. Let us know how it goes.

My kayaking dog is dropping hints lying around the back door, but after yesterday’s windy excursion, I opted for the trails for a quick four miles. Nothing gets one’s legs moving like wearing shorts in chilly morning conditions. My dog was happily and easily bought out with… :cheese:.

Thanksgiving has passed, and everyone is filled to the brim with dining, shopping and (American) football. Now it’s on to shopping and hauling out the Christmas decorations. Ho, ho…no .

Have a peaceful day!

It is a glass polishing kit only. You could use it though with a marble polishing kit , it all depends on the pads (and paste) you fit to it. it is heavy as it is a professional tool

Yes, yes. The kits I am looking at are a very similar process with increasingly fine polish and polishing pads.

I don’t water the garden when I am here so my plants don’t notice if I am gone. Actually my pot plants I move to the back of the car port so any rain that falls on that then waters them but it is surprising how long a good soaking before I go lasts

My plants are those that survive, it is all very Darwinian and at the moment very dry.

Funny thing is when my daughter visited she came in her “posh” car, I forget what it is is other than it is the top of the range Subaru, very low and very fast. For reason best known to her she decided to reverse into my car port. T\As I say this car is very low to the ground and the back of the air dam at the front got caught on the concrete in the centre of the gate.

It has moved as the wet ground shrinks away from it over the last 30 years and that top edge caught the back of the front of her car. She had to go out and return forwards (reversing out is no problem). Now I have to wait until there is a child here to carry a bag of concrete from Bunnings to redo it so it is level with the ground again

Yep, you definitely are. I used to hate winter in the UK in winter, dark when you went to work and dark when you came home. Same reason I dislike daylight savings here where we have nearly 12 hour days all year round.

Surely you just tell the dentist what you want and they do it, they can suggest but you are the client, I refused all root canal therapy when I was younger and poorer. They only remove teeth as a last resort. You know that decay is going to set in don’t you?

Personally I don’t have enough teeth to be risking losing any more - it is not that I have lost a lot it is just a shortage of chewing teeth opposite each other that is the problem.

Amy’s been dead since July 2011, so who were you watching?

@boomer. it was a singer that was picked to replace her , It was Amys Original Band playing and they had a orchestra as backing ,

I dont recall the Singers name but she gave a brilliant performance , in the Second half we were invited to stand and join in and dance , clap and it became a Party atmosphere .

Everyone made the singer welcome and the original band was 100% behind her as was the audience .

Im sure if you looked her up you would find her name , might even be on Youtube .

Thank you for taking an interest.

Wow she was good!

yes I thought she was very good ,keeping Amy’s memory alive .

Thanks for that. She started off and I thought she was close, but then it went a bit wayward for me. Guess if you’re a fan of the original, like me, nothing else will do.

It’s a tribute band, never as good as the original but seemed good enough.
