Morning Everyone, my thoughts are with @Pimmy this morning, and wondering where @Surfermom has got to…
Collected my new phone (Samsung Galaxy A36) yesterday afternoon and spent the best part of yesterday evening messing with it and deleting all the useless (to me) stuff that comes with it.
Blimey! It’s more complex and stressful than moving house…
It leaves you begging the question…Can people get in touch with me? Will it ring or beep or something?
It wasn’t until it told me that the battery was running out that I realised I had nothing to charge it with, I’ve got loads of chargers but all of my previous leads didn’t fit.
Anyway…Tesco to the rescue when I did the weekend shop early on, they do a comprehensive collection of cables for phones…At 13 quid though, a bit steep I thought…
So guess what I’ll be doing today?
Good morning to you and everyone,
Yesterday i had a tough time. Around 1:27pm, while I was sitting in my workplace, I suddenly felt extremely dizzy. At first, I thought I was getting sick, but when I looked around, everything was shaking. I quickly ran out to downstairs from the 40th floor. Most people were already outside of their buildings. The earthquake lasted around five minutes but was very intense. A building not far from my home collapsed completely. Nearly a hundred people died. I’m still feeling dizzy until now.
Good to hear you’re OK @Pimmy. You must have been terrified, the 40th floor!
So sad for those poor victims.
Glad you are OK Pimmy. So sad for all those affected by the earthquake.
Our grandson was in Bangkok. We have heard from him now. He said he had left Bangkok the day before the earthquake.
Thanks for posting @Pimmy we all was getting worried , good that you got out the building it must have been solidly built , I read there could be after shocks so take care .
Im thinking @Surfermom is busy getting her house sold and planning the new build , probably hear from her when she as a spare moment .
Good afternoon all
That must have been a terrifying experience Pimmy! I’m glad to read that you were unscathed.
A quiet day here, popped into town with Chilli junior to pick up a few goodies including…
A really pleasant spring day in Sussex, looking good for next week too
Shouldn’t tempt fate
Good luck with the phone Foxy, you’ll get there. I’m not an authority on these matters but I’m surprised there wasn’t a charger supplied with the phone.
Enjoy the rest of your day people
Heading to Rattlesnake Roundup
I’ve just Googled that Robin!
If it’s what I think it is it looks intriguing
Onceyou get the phone sorted you can get your google account to remember how it is so that the next phone you buy can be automatically set up exactly how you like it. Well worth the effort.
So glad to hear that you are OK.
Earthquakes are very frightening I have been in a couple in Iran and Afghanistan (long time ago). You feel so powerless.
That is awful, Pinny… A dreadful toll. Thank goodness you made it.
Thank you so much Rose! My legs were still shaking even after I got to safety. The 40th floor felt like the top of the world. Until it didn’t. I’m heartbroken for the victims. Sadly, not all of the bodies have been recovered from the rubble yet. It’s something I will never forget.
Thank you so much. I’m really relieved to hear your grandson is safe, that must have been such a worry for your family. I’m so grateful I’m OK too. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the earthquake. It’s been such a tragic time.
Thank you so much for your kind message. I really appreciate your concern. it means a lot. Yes, I was lucky the building was strong and well-built, otherwise it could have been much worse. I’ve heard about possible aftershocks too, so I’m being extra careful. Thanks again for thinking of me!
I thought @Surfermom must be doing just fine.
Thanks chilliboot, your food and wine are looking good.
Thank you! Yes, it was absolutely terrifying.I think I discovered new levels of “powerless”! I can’t imagine going through quakes in Iran and Afghanistan too. You’re a true earthquake veteran! Let’s just say I’m not in a hurry to collect any more quake
Thank you so much. Today, I’m finally feeling a sense of relief and getting back into my normal daily rhythm. It feels good to return to the little things like tending to my plants, which always brings me peace.
Good to see you are well and posting Pimmy, it must be heartbreaking for all the people who lost someone in the turmoil. Do be careful if there are still aftershocks…
Thanks Bruce but the phone and car - unless I break them - will most likely be the last I will ever need to buy. As long as I can get a maximum of 20 years out of both of them I shall be well chuffed…
I’ll be 95 by then (if I last that long) and I’ll probably not be using either once I’m old and decrepit and being fed by a nurse. Mrs Fox reckons I’ve not long to go…
Thanks again. I love you all
