Good Morning Saturday, 29th March 2025

Good morning to every one on this wet weekend. The temperature has cooled to the point I dug out my cardigan to cope with the wet maximum of 21°. Until 9ammy garden had 25mm of rain but this arvo is supposed to be heavy rain up to 110mm and windy as a low from Queensland heads for the coast via central NSW.

I am staying indoors so my offering today is a phone pic of a traffic light control box I prepared earlier. This one is a bit esoteric.

Might venture down to the garage between showers but that will probably be the height of my adventures today, The weather is supposed to start clearing up tomorrow as the low heads toward New Zealand, it is not hanging about.

Have a dry day and a lovely weekend.

Take care.

Good morning all,

I feel accomplished when I post in this chat and its actually morning time  It is 12:17 am. So far, I vented at a poor soul. This week has been hectic at home as well as work. Very glad its Saturday morning.

@Bruce it also rained here today. From last year, I believe temperatures are flipped in Texas compared to Australia. It’s getting warmer here with me breaking out shorts, versus the cardigan there. I recall being jealous last year of the cool weather during hot summers here.

For today, hoping to attend a luncheon, and then make some plans to find some springtime flowers.

Happy Weekend everyone! Here’s to a better next week.

Good morning everyone, its been raining a lot here too, all week, it’s beginning to feel like Groundhog Day. Same every day.

Yes, that’s an unusual but interesting looking traffic light control box @Bruce.
Pretty Springtime flowers @LookingForward, and just like your name, I’m looking forward to our time change tonight, one hour less sleep but more daylight, here’s to Spring, and hopefully drier, warmer weather!

Some shopping to be done this morning and this evening my mum’s baking homemade pizza. :yum: :pizza:

Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Hi

A bad night, but a much better morning healthwise.

A quiet day, sorting the lighting timers on the fish tanks and the rather large delivery of medicines I got yesterday.

Have a good day all.

Good morning all

I had a brilliant time last night the music brought back memories of different Tv series .

There was also a mix of Sport programmes music , and for a laugh they had a guy dressed as a referee come on showing a red card .

Some I recognised , like Onedin Line ,Jonathan Creek , Lone Ranger, and to finish off they played Game of Thrones , first time I had heard it, and it was played magnificently…

The Orchestra Conductor was a Lady ,a great job she did , and it was compared by a Guy , who said it was all recorded for Radio 3 and would be out in the Autumn .

My next trip out is next week to watch a Agatha Christie play. Murder On the Orient Express.

@LookingForward lovely flower photo ,its Spring here and is just warming up and everything is beginning to put on new growth,.Ive got 3 Scented flowering Shrubs ,

Today I might walk down and see a new Bookshop thats opening today .its Independent , and makes a change to all the Charity Shops and Estate Agents we have in our Village .

Have a Happy day everyone .

Good morning - A sunny morning with a temperature of 10C. Mid-teens later. There is going to be a partial solar eclipse starting at 10.07 a.m. and ending at midday. I won’t be looking at it.

How to watch the partial solar eclipse - BBC News

The family will be visiting this afternoon and Mrs mart had made treacle tarts and cheese straws to dig into. There won’t be any left. Our friends are coming for a curry this evening, so a bit of a busy day from around 2.00 p.m. So much for trying to lose some weight from my midriff.

Morning all – lovely sunny start to the day.

Beast was very good and went out straight after breakfast and is currently sunning herself sitting in her favourite plant pot

Watching the birds fighting over the feeders – must fill the bird bath later!

Insomnia struck with a vengeance last night – so feeling very tired and not energetic at all today. I will probably just do a little light housework and maybe sit in the sun reading for a while.

Take care – have a lovely day

Morning Everyone, my thoughts are with @Pimmy this morning, and wondering where @Surfermom has got to…
Collected my new phone (Samsung Galaxy A36) yesterday afternoon and spent the best part of yesterday evening messing with it and deleting all the useless (to me) stuff that comes with it.
Blimey! It’s more complex and stressful than moving house…
:open_mouth:
It leaves you begging the question…Can people get in touch with me? Will it ring or beep or something?
It wasn’t until it told me that the battery was running out that I realised I had nothing to charge it with, I’ve got loads of chargers but all of my previous leads didn’t fit.
Anyway…Tesco to the rescue when I did the weekend shop early on, they do a comprehensive collection of cables for phones…At 13 quid though, a bit steep I thought…
So guess what I’ll be doing today?

Good morning to you and everyone,
Yesterday i had a tough time. Around 1:27pm, while I was sitting in my workplace, I suddenly felt extremely dizzy. At first, I thought I was getting sick, but when I looked around, everything was shaking. I quickly ran out to downstairs from the 40th floor. Most people were already outside of their buildings. The earthquake lasted around five minutes but was very intense. A building not far from my home collapsed completely. Nearly a hundred people died. I’m still feeling dizzy until now.

Good to hear you’re OK @Pimmy. You must have been terrified, the 40th floor! :astonished:
So sad for those poor victims.

Glad you are OK Pimmy. So sad for all those affected by the earthquake.

Our grandson was in Bangkok. We have heard from him now. He said he had left Bangkok the day before the earthquake.

Good afternoon all :sun_with_face:

That must have been a terrifying experience Pimmy! I’m glad to read that you were unscathed.

A quiet day here, popped into town with Chilli junior to pick up a few goodies including…

A really pleasant spring day in Sussex, looking good for next week too :+1:
Shouldn’t tempt fate :open_mouth:

Good luck with the phone Foxy, you’ll get there. I’m not an authority on these matters but I’m surprised there wasn’t a charger supplied with the phone.

Enjoy the rest of your day people :+1:

Onceyou get the phone sorted you can get your google account to remember how it is so that the next phone you buy can be automatically set up exactly how you like it. Well worth the effort.

So glad to hear that you are OK.

Earthquakes are very frightening I have been in a couple in Iran and Afghanistan (long time ago). You feel so powerless.

That is awful, Pinny… A dreadful toll. Thank goodness you made it.

Thank you so much Rose! My legs were still shaking even after I got to safety. The 40th floor felt like the top of the world. Until it didn’t. I’m heartbroken for the victims. Sadly, not all of the bodies have been recovered from the rubble yet. It’s something I will never forget.

Thank you so much. I’m really relieved to hear your grandson is safe, that must have been such a worry for your family. I’m so grateful I’m OK too. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the earthquake. It’s been such a tragic time.
