I got my document delivery. It took longer than I expected, but it did arrive on the right day.
Today is the dreaded Halloween weekend. Last year, 2 of my neighbors had Halloween parties. One of them has a Halloween party every year. But it’s generally not too bad.
On the other hand, my other neighbor didn’t used to have Halloween parties but since he’s partying all the time, maybe I just didn’t notice.
Last year, I made the mistake of waiting until after midnight to call the police. The police were busy with drunken drivers at that time. This year, I plan on calling earlier if my neighbors violate the ordinance.
Woman at the top of my road, while I hesitated with Holly, told me there was a Halloween party in their garden, and that G and L, her next door neighbour and the one across the road, were going. I am friends with both G&L. I thought, why are you telling me this? Am I that interested? Do I have FOMO, in that I’m not going? Pah!
No plans for me today. Feel at a loose end now we are banned from accessing our allotment. Good excuse not to feel guilty, I suppose.
I’m going to Preston today - a friend has asked me to pick up leaflets & timetables for bus services in Lancashire
And I’ll do general window shopping as well - as I’ve got older I’m doing less serious hiking, and more shorter rambles or exploring towns
I have loads of clothes & trail shoes etc., but all my rucsacs are big ruffy - tuffy proper hiking ones, and I could do with something a bit smaller and more civilised
We shall see
Also I’ll have a look round the library for a bigger selection of books
Foxy’s hectic weekend starts with a visit to a garden centre for lunch to celebrate a friends 76th birthday, tomorrow will be another visit to an even bigger garden centre with a decent carvery for lunch, I’m taking my daughter and her hubby because they claim they are skint…A likely story! And then on Monday an early start and a drive to Boston (Lincs if you were wondering) I’m taking a friend to attend a funeral there because navigation is a bit of a mystery to her.
