I have to keep an eye on the weather as I have the bedding from my camper out on the line. It keeps threatening to rain but I hope to get it dry beforehand. The temperature is nearly 25° so it shouldn’t take long to dry.
The grandkids and parents left yesterday in their two cars but 20 minutes later I received a call say that one car had shredded a tyre going up Mt Ousley - not somewhere you want to break down. Fortunately he got it changed OK.
Not much planned today now that the laundry is done.
Neighbours rang yesterday afternoon inviting me in for coffee and mince pies but I declined – didn’t want to pass on anything just before their holiday! They are off to Spain on 31st December for 18 days so I will be back on cat servant duty
I have been considering a holiday cruising around the Irish coastline – expensive but thought I would spend my money before Robber Reeves finds a way to take it away from me! The holiday includes a chauffeur service from home to the port, but only the first 100 miles is covered. The distance from my home to the port is 175 miles so I wrote asking how much extra that 75 miles will cost - £230 each way which seems a bit excessive. When I travelled to Heathrow last year using a car service it cost that for the entire journey there not just 75 miles! Will have to think about that one!
Felt so ill last night that I was in bed by 7.30. I usually switch my phone off when I go to bed but last night I forgot only to be disturbed at 11.30 by a call from a woman saying she had been called from my number! Told her she was mistaken but am now wondering whether my number has been cloned by some scammer!
Not much planned for today, although I should tackle the laundry before I run out of clean clothes!
Feeling a little better this morning and, hopefully, I will be back to my normal obnoxious self very soon!
Ive not slept all night ,my dog as nights where she just will not settle for long , discussed with the vet earlier this year about her odd behaviour . And she as signs of dementia, she’s also deaf now .
So im going to try catch a nap today ,
Have a good day.
The early morning shopping went well, only half a dozen people in the local Tesco and not many more in the M&S up the road. 3 degrees C and thick fog and upon our return, Mrs Fox went for her early morning walk with her friend while I found sanctuary in the hot bubbling waters of the shower…Well! it’s rest day today…
She didn’t return until I’d finished my porridge…I hate talking while I’m eating…
I noticed a strange, round, watery looking object in the sky…I took this photo…Does anyone know what it is?
A lazy day today and a tin of corned beef for dinner with some mash and veg…
Family decided to come for tea tomorrow…I’ll try my first walk since last Sunday…
At last, the sun’s out . Much milder today, all that sunshine has helped a lot, temperatures shooting up to at least 18C, this afternoon, just hope it lasts at least a few days.
Couldn’t help snapping a couple of sunshine pictures.
Good fine morning, from Florida! The weather, according to my great niece is “ooey gooey,” which is exactly right - gray, foggy, mild and wet with storms moving through in the night.
That is a mighty find mug, Bruce! Is it the “seniors” that is aptly names you? Surely it’s not “mess” .
That tire looks like your kids hit a patch of glass shards and knives, Bruce. Holy cow, what caused that?
@SheilaP, I hope you get to take that cruise! It sounds relaxing and exciting all rolled into one!
@Rose, what a pretty scene! You must like the winter vista when the bare trees give you a wider view. How pretty!
@OldGreyFox, your conditions look a lot like mine this morning (the weather, not the meal) I raced through a 5K ever to get back to do some painting. I have finished this big fellow and about to start another. This one will hang over the mantel for a few days so I can fix anything that is bugging me before sending it to a gallery.
I fear that both describe me, my kids constantly complain that I have to stop hoarding useful stuff. I do try to discard things but I know as soon as I do I will need it.
