Yesterday, trimmed a rose bush and another bush to clear a path. I wasn’t expecting it to be as much work as it was. Had some trouble sleeping so I just chilled out for a while. Got some sleep later.
Today’s plans are on hold until I see what my neighbors are doing for the holiday weekend.
I have a busy day today as I’m catering for a family barbacue tomorrow so I’ll be busy getting organised…the good thing about barbacues is the chaps do the cooking…still have salads to prepare…strawberries and cream and fresh cream gateaux for dessert…chokky ice lollies for the kids if they prefer because they love running about
Out tonight with pals to an Indian restaurant in Wetherby…a favourite so a pleasant weekend for me
I haven’t bought any new clothes for years, and I realise that now most of my jackets are the zip front windcheater style ( are they still called that?) which marks me down as a sad old man
And most of them are insulated
So I’m on the lookout for a casual jacket like a sports jacket (again, are they still called that?)
The problem is that many men’s tailors, or gentleman’s outfitters even, have closed
Oh well, something will turn up
Then I had an idea - near me is Nelson, which has the biggest Asian market in Britain, which I’ve visited before.
So I’ll go there and have a browse round, and as it’s warm weather I’ll look for something interesting and sort of Eastern, to bring back memories of my ancient hippy youth.
That will give me time to find something a bit more tweedy for the autumn.
Other than that, nothing much to report
I’ve had a model plane part made for weeks, I’ll try to find time to press on with that.
I’m off to Norwich next Wednesday and mentioned to the lady I am going with that I want to look for a jumper. Fed up of wearing fleeces.
I too can’t plan for the weekend with my neighbours. Yesterday evening I lost count of how many times they opened that front door! I swear they are doing it deliberately. Wouldn’t mind if they only oiled the hinges!
Holly is out the garden lying on her mat. I want to get to the allotment again to do more but don’t like calling her in away from her sunbathing. Left some more seedlings over there and want to lay down some fleece over those I’ve put in.
Good morning from Foxy’s world…
Hope everyone is keeping healthy and well…
Out at the crack of dawn today for my three mile walk with a light sprinkling of jogging…
Two minutes and I was out in the country under a cloudless sky and not a breath of wind…
It was so quiet and peaceful and a great start to the day.
Nobody about, I could have been the only person on the planet. All the fields have been planted with green shoots of the various crops sprouting everywhere.
I had to pinch myself and remember that Mrs Fox was patiently waiting for me to return home and take her for our weekly visit to Tesco…
Hardly anyone in there either so we breezed round and were soon home eating breakfast.
A nice garden centre for lunch later, and a visit from daughter and hubby for tea.
Can’t be late in bed tonight though, a hard bike ride to do first thing…
