Good Morning Saturday, 27th December 2025

Good morning everyone on this warm, sunny Saturday morning. Certainly makes a change from the last couple of cool days!

I have been in the garage having a look at a problem with my awning that I found yesterday when I was showing my daughter how to fix her solar panel to the roof of her car.

Most of the pop rivets holding the awning to the backing plate had broken. Apparently it is not an uncommon problem but I didn’t know about it and only found it by accident.

You can see good pop rivets on the right hand end but the next two are completely missing.

The whole awning is pulling away from the backing plate (you can see the broken rivet stubs). It actually is not as bad as that, I was pulling on it for the picture.

I have temporarily strapped it together until I can get to Bunnings (probably Monday) and get some suitable bolts to replace the rivets.

Sorry about the pics they were taken from videos.

Anyway that’s my next job.

Enjoy the weekend and time to recover from the over indulgence of Christmas, I am having a no food day.

Take care…

Morning all…

A cold a frosty morning, but without any biting wind to make it seem colder.

Last few days have not been the best. On the way back from New York, someone on the plane was generous enough to pass on a rotten flu bug, so me and the wife have spent most of Christmas laid up, coughing and full of snot. Whilst I’ve peaked out, Mrs G is still full of it, neither of us feeling up to much. However, I did manage to do my daily walk today and come home with coffee and muffins to help us feel better.

Have a great day all…

Good morning all!

Nippy but pleasant here in West Sussex :sun_behind_small_cloud:
A quiet day anticipated, buffet lunch and a roast tonight.
I’m actually looking forward to getting back to reality, simple grub and back into the gym. To much good living isn’t necessarily a good thing!

Have a good day people :+1:

sorry to read about your flu problem. If it was an English flu you both would have got over it by now.
Unfortunately you must have caught that terrible American Trump type flu which is very hard to get rid of

Good afternoon everyone, we’ve just finished our lunch consisting of more leftovers from the Christmas roast and chicken broth. I haven’t cooked for two days! We will be having lighter meals during the next few days, that’s for sure.

It’s getting colder here, mountain tops all around us full of snow, this morning I harvested the last of my orangey lemons (I think they’re called Meyer lemons), before the icy weather sets in, forecast for later on in the week.

This is definitely a veeerry looong weekend by the way, isn’t it?

Hi
All good things as they say, come to an end.

The battery on my mobile is starting to fail and cannot be replaced.

It is a much abused phone, I fall a lot, it is 3 years old.

It is an Android, a very cheap one, recommended by family who live in Taiwan, where they make the bits.

I have had to order another one, drop proof, waterproof and a huge battery, you cannot charge them up in a hospital corridor and you have no call bell in a corridor.

I have another Doogee arriving tomorrow, Android 15, a huge 13000 battery
simple turn on, 59 double sim slot etc, etc.

Not to everyone’s tastes, but satisfies my needs.

£200 , so not bad. I don’t do names.

I used to be the same, as soon as Boxing Day was over everything was ripped down but now I don’t put anything up so there is nothing to put away.

Oh yes, isn’t it great? Doesn’t make much difference to me now but when I worked a four day weekend was something to look forward to.

Spreads the load on the roads too with people going and returning from holiday.
