Good morning to you all on this planet alignment day, knowing my luck it will be cloudy tonight.
I was waiting for a visit from my son but he has just rung to say he has totalled his car on the expressway near me. He is waiting for a tow truck and I am waiting to know when to pick him up. He’s OK but a bit pissed off as it was his fault too, he ran into the back of someone.
Obviously my good morning post is going to be short while I wait to hear from him to pick him up. I just hope lunch is still on
Thats bad luck @Bruce ,not a good start to the weekend .
I am looking forward to hearing The Philharmonic Orchestra tonight in Concert .They will be playing the theme music to TV programmes over the past 40/ 50 years .
Do you remember The Onedin Line thats one , I found the series on YT , to buy the Box set was over £200.
There was no major damage from the Storm in my close area ,I dint think we had such strong winds as others did .
It happens, the car is a mess the tow truck dropped him off at my place. It’ll be written off, he only paid a few grand for it, it’s a Holden Barina
He was fine just annoyed with himself. A lot of traffic from Sydney going down the coast for the weekend as it is still school holidays.
We had a nice lunch at the Thai place down the road from me and I drove him to a Hurstville railway station to get a bus home (trackwork of course)
He is working tomorrow then booked on a bus to Canberra for a few days with his kids before he sails off for a month or two. I guess he will buy another car when he gets back, it is only a small runabout for him, his wife has the main car.
Morning all for me too!
Yes, it was windy here too (South Yorkshire) we have a friend in Northern Ireland and she said it was absolutely hellish. The storms have been abated but it is rather cold at 2C.
Morning all – bright sunny day today – certainly improves the mood
Sorry about your son’s accident Bruce but glad he is OK
A friend called in unexpectedly yesterday afternoon – she happened to be passing and fancied a cup of coffee! Always happy to see her
Will be taking advantage of the sunshine to get some washing on the line and then off to the supermarket to see if they have managed to restock those empty shelves!
Morning all…
Sorry to hear about your sons mishap Bruce, but glad he’s okay. Been there, done that, and it was my fault too…When I was a courier…Drat that annoying Jeremey Vine, I took my eyes off the road for just one second to turn up the volume and the traffic in front had stopped, except me…Too many distractions in cars these days.
No damage from the storm here either…If I hear someone on the telly mention it was the most serious storm since records began, I’ll bloody scream…
Off to Boundary Mill at Sheffield now so missus Fox can pacify herself with the isles full of cheap stuff…I’m only going for the lunch, I hear the cafe’ is quite reasonable…
Good morning from frosty Florida! The last of the snow will melt off today. I’ll be moping about toon to do the post mortem on the gardens, removing the plant coverings and Christmas lights that hopefully saved a few of the more rare species.
I just wish the planets had aligned better for your son, Bruce . It sounds like he shook it off pretty well, and thankfully he was unharmed. Hopefully all will be better when Mercury joins the alignment at the end of February.
@Eliza, enjoy your evening! I’ll take a listen to your YouTube suggestion. Thank you for that.
Nothing exciting is going on here today. I ran 5K dodging black ice and am being drug off to look at a possible building lot for the Surfermom Home for the Aged and Eventually Infirmed. Wasn’t I just on the playground in pigtails and petticoats being chased by rambunctious boys with cooties?
Sorry to hear about your son’s car accident @Bruce, but glad he’s OK.
I was watching on the news about some of the devastation caused by those strong winds, hopefully they’ve finally calmed down. We’re having really strange weather, foggy in the mornings, then the sun comes out, Spring temperatures, but at the same time with all that humidity lingering in the air
It’s cloudy this evening so no planet alignment viewing for me.
I think I just captured Mars through the clouds
