Good morning all you weekend warriors on this rather lovely Saturday, with temperatures creeping up to the mid 20s.
I was having a look round my garden, I am very fond of Grevilleas but they don’t like my garden with it’s clay just a little bit below the surface (makes their feet too wet) but they are doing OK this winter.
When I wandered behind the garage the nasturtiums are doing well too (they grow by themselves every year) I like the leaves with cheese and the like in preference to lettuce, love the peppery taste.
Good morning Bruce and all who follow. What lovely pictures Bruce - to think that it is still Winter down there too, a stunning display!
It’s raining cats and dogs here, much to Annie dog’s disgust when we went for our walk. It was a much shorter route than usual but we still got soaked. Still, we’re home and dry now. I don’t have much planned for today except to watch the test match - if it isn’t raining at Old Trafford, which is a big if! Yesterday the spectators at the match were wrapped up as if it were the middle of Winter, still I suppose it is Up North, it’s slightly balmier here, or it was yesterday.
Funny thing, as you say it is still winter but it was nearly 30° at my place today. The wind was so warm coming from the centre of the country - my washing on the line dried in an hour and a half!
Bruce your flowers look lovely and exotic from my spot on the planet. Those long appendages look like stigmas and styles, which is a very unusual layout for a flower.
Saturday started early with my head (amusingly) trying to solve problems of national defense and physics problems through the night, no doubt the result of watching “Oppenheimer” right before I went to bed.
A good run cleared all that from my head and now I am back home ready to slay a day of yard work and tutoring. Not exactly the Saturday of one’s dreams, but I am eager to tidy up the plants and lawn suffering in the heat before taking the dogs out for a long overdue trip to the dog park.
