Good Morning Saturday, 23rd May 2026

Good morning all, it’s the weekend. Hooray! (though to be honest it makes little difference to me)

No walk this morning because it was raining but it has cleared up since so I might go out this arvo. Less than 2 mm rain in the last 24 hours.

Flew my drone this morning to have another look at those houses that are crammed next to each other, I wanted to get a shot of their gardens to see if they were as miniscule as they looked from a previous flight.

Yep they are tiny, I can only imagine that these houses are intended for baby boomers who don’t want a garden.

Anyway not much to report today.

Have a good one.

Take care…

Good morning everyone and judging by the recent morning posts I’ve been reading, Happy Heatwave to you all in the UK.
We are also finally having warmer, sunnier days, I wouldn’t call it a heatwave but maybe up North they will, it seems that it’s much hotter than down here which is unusual, this is becoming a regular occurrence, maybe the earth’s axis has suddenly tilted! :grinning:

With higher morning temperatures, I finally planted some basil and cherry tomatoes, keeping fingers crossed for lots of pesto and tomato sauces!

Good picture @Bruce .

Have a great weekend everybody.

Good morning all! :sun_with_face:

Happy heatwave indeed!
Those young plants look terrific Rose, really thriving and healthy. Actually you’ve put me to shame, I’ve planted nothing this year :disappointed: But… I’m in town later, must pick up some basil, oregano, nasturtium and night scented stock seeds.

First things first, breakfast and then pop over the road to the barbers to get my mohawk attended to and maintained!:+1:

Have a super sunny day forum people! :sunglasses::v:

Good morning all

Last night went well ,I danced the night away , so there was 4 singers and the Orchestra and there was a Widow lady either side to me , we talked about doing things singly, and they have been on singles Cruises .Im not sure I would do that abroad , but yes cruises maybe in this country , Scotland comes to mind.
Anyway the night ended with YMCA and we were all out our seat doing the motions .Ive never had so much fun …

The weathers changed and we are now in that short period we call Summer , I prefer cooler temps , but its a joy to get into summer skirts and tops ,I gave up shorts a few years back .

@Rose2 your Veg are looking green and healthy @Chilliboot I planted Night Scented Stock seeds a few days ago and they are already poking through .
@Bruce hope you dont catch anyone sunbathing topless .

Have a Happy Day all .

Very busy in the Tesco this morning with staff rushing around like blue arse flies with cages of supplies and waste cardboard everywhere. I think they are preparing for the holiday rush later.
We were in and out in twenty minutes with all the fresh stuff and bread and milk for the week, until Wednesday anyway…Family coming for tea and a nag later…

Removed the radiator/towel rail on Thursday and gave it a good flush out in the yard yesterday, I don’t know what I’m going to do with the supply pipes poking out through the wall yet…They are fairly damaged but I didn’t want to have to remove tiles and start digging into the wall…This is the worst fitting…

I’ll try and straighten it out.

Apart from a garden centre for today’s lunch, and the family arriving at tea time, not much else happening in the Fox household…

Talk about battery hens Bruce, looking at those houses makes me wonder if this is a prelude to things to come. No proper jobs with AI taking the strain, and no reason to leave the house. Was Lockdown just the trial run.
I don’t think there will be any topless sunbathing in the future Eliza, they are working of ways to block out the sun to prevent global warming.
