Good Morning Saturday 22nd June 2024

Good morning every forum member, another sunny winter day here.

As luck would have it my youngest son visited today and was able to lift out my old battery and put in the new AGM battery into my camper so that was very convenient. He said it was absolutely belting down in Sydney when he left this morning, so I will travel there in luxury

He is going to treat me to lunch at the club or rather a club (he doesn’t like my local one). He brought his dog down and his girlfriend’s posh ute (top of the range Ford Ranger).

Edit: I have been told off it is a top of the range TOYOTA HiLux Ute, not Ford Ranger

Anyway that’s my day sorted. What do you have planned for the weekend?

Hi Bruce and everyone, it’s only 6.30am here and and already 23C, so that means well probably reach 40C again today for the fourth day running, with very high humidity!
Finally got all my grass cut, it was getting to look like a forest out there. Forests are nice but not right in front of your yard

Hope the weather gets better for you when you arrive in Sydney.

No, sorry, I misled you with my badly worded para, I am not going to Sydney, he was driving me to Wests Illawarra Club in style. Where we had lunch - I had a couple of beers and salt and pepper squid which wasn’t a bad lunch - probably won’t need to eat again today.

He has just left to return to Sydney (late arvo), I will see him again next weekend when he returns for one of my great niece’s 1st birthday.

Morning all – another sunny day, the sunshine certainly lifts the mood!

I am sure you enjoyed your son’s visit and your lunch Bruce, looks good although not for me as I am allergic to fish!

Beastie had breakfast and went into the garden without making me wait at the door. She hid a little gift behind the kitchen bin again but I think I have now sussed out all her hiding places!

Yesterday sorted out which paintings I will be sending to auction, 25 framed paintings and 20 unframed prints!! Today I plan to start sorting through all the ornaments and bric-a-brac.

When I finished sorting the paintings I made myself a well-deserved cup of coffee – left it on the counter while I answered the door only to return to find a fly floating in it!! Really of all the places the fly could choose to commit suicide it had to choose my coffee! (No I didn’t drink it!) :face_vomiting:

Take care - have a lovely day everyone

Are you an artist, Sheila?

Cold? Hot? Crowded? Boring? :017:

Lucky you to have the surprise visit. It’s a double win with the son, the dog, and lunch
with the added bonus of a little help. Good for you!

No , I’m afraid I have no talent in that area - since moving I don’t have the room to hang all the paintings so they have been sitting in the spare room for 3 years! The impending visit of my great niece has galvanised me into actually sorting them and once the other bits and pieces of been sorted I will call in the auctioneer

It’s a perfect 27 degrees outside, so I raced out to squeeze in a few miles before coming back to scrub the house top to bottom. I love my doggies, but holy moly do they ever keep me busy with the vacuum in one hand and the pet hair remover in the other!

The new old Oddity (Odyssey) is in the driveway, so the disaster of the old one being totaled is now history. Now it’s just a matter of turning off most of the distracting “safety” features, so I don’t wreck the thing .

In local news, the girl who survived the shark attack is doing well and the tourists are raising Cain and hot under the collar
or swimwear, as the case may be
because double red flags are flying, making it illegal (except for surfers) to enter the gulf. A slow-moving tropical storm in Mexico has sent us some sizable surf and strong riptides and after three drownings along the coast and dozens of rescuers, so the beach lifeguards had finally had it and just shut it down. Understandably, people are upset about saving all year for a beach vacation, only to be stuck cooking on the sand without being able to cool off in the water.

Hope you have a nice Saturday!

Probably the same as here, as soon as the forecast mentions “dangerous seas” the board riders are busy waxing their boards

That’s exactly right!
