Good Morning Saturday, 22nd February 2025

Good morning @everybody it’s a forum Saturday so a weekend of fun and frolics for all… :icon_wink:

I have just arrived home in the 'Gong after driving from Jindabyne, only stopped once just to stretch my legs (and a toilet break). Have to admit I am tired so once I have reversed the trailer into my car port will leave unpacking until tomorrow.

Enjoyed the short time away, not an area I need to go to again though talking to the fishing, boating trekking crowd they love it so I have a bit of a jaundiced view of those activities.

Well, basically that is my day done and dusted, how about you?

Have fun, take care…

Good morning everyone, another bright, sunny day ahead of us, apparently we’re going to have a taste of Spring this weekend, but it won’t last of course. In fact, the forecaster on tv made a firm point about this : “will be followed by much colder, rainy, snowy weather to remind us we are still in Winter!” I wanted to shout at the tv: “”:Well, thank you for stating the obvious, you could have been less dramatic!"
So I’m going to take advantage and go for a long stroll in the town centre.
Happy return home @Bruce , my son’s going fishing tomorrow, a new hobby he’s recently taken up.

Wishing everyone a good weekend.

I actually have all the gear needed to go fishing.

Many years I worked at a power station where fish flourished in the cooling water canals, on night and afternoon shifts I would spend a few minutes fishing. If I didn’t catch anything in the first few minutes I gave up.

To be honest I find fishing too boring as a hobby for me. (that’s just me)

Morning all – another dry but windy day today

Glad you enjoyed your couple of days away Bruce – time to plan the next adventure!

Waiting in line at the supermarket checkout yesterday (I refuse to use the self-service tills) a lady at the front of the queue was slowly packing her bags and holding a conversation with the check out girl. I find this happens quite often and assumed she was lonely and this was probably the only conversation she would have all day – yet others in the queue were tutting and complaining to each other. I can’t understand why people get so annoyed – she probably held up the queue for about 5 minutes at the most.

Not much planned for today – will take the day as it comes. You never know a rich, handsome man may come knocking on my door declaring his undying love for me although somehow I doubt it!

Take care – have a great day

Good morning all ,

It truly feels like Spring as sprung , a lot of my garden Shrubs are putting on new growth,

@SheilaP I have no desire for a rich handsome man to come knocking at my door , im happy with my life , so if I see or get any such males at my door I will send them your way Post haste

@Rose2 enjoy you walk to the town ,if you could pick up a bag of Sugar for me please , that would be good of you .

@Bruce welcome back , I use to enjoy my short weekends away , and intend to do so again when Im free from my present responsibility.

I have nothing planned , so will enjoy the last of the Onedin Line series on Youtube .

Good morning - Dry today but rain tomorrow apparently, so maybe another walk. After some months of wondering what the point is, I looked down at my usually slim midriff and noticed how big it had grown due to lack of exercise. With that, I’ve started my walks again.

The countryside is still looking dead but the walk is rugged enough. Doing about 2 miles around here, which has been pretty tiring. I used to ride my bike all over land like this but had to take a break or two even though walking it. I hope it will get easier…

Only a few hundred yards to go to home…

@mart a lovely walk , I too had to give up cycling , but walking gives me more time to look around and enjoy the beauty of the countryside .

Thanks for photos Mart .

What annoys me is not so much on here but on other forums members asking for advice. So one spend time giving an opinion and the best from experience, then the person asking the question doesn’t bother to come back to the discussion.

Good Morning Everyone…
Rest day today with the usual early Tesco visit and now we are just off to find a nice garden centre for lunch. Probably Bridlington, it’s about an hour and a half away but I just fancy a drive.
That looks a great place to walk and cycle Mart, I’d never be at home if I lived close to that kind of country…
:+1:
Spring doesn’t look too far away considering this mornings weather, the shorts are already on…
Almost back to normal Bruce…But you might be right about the running…
:worried:

I am also happy with my life but the thought of a rich handsome man keeping me company occasionally is quite appealing :grinning:

I do find the UK canal system and its resurrection fascinating. I followed a couple of YouTube Channels that explored it. One of the best produced (in my opinion) is Cruising the Cut.
