I was up early for my daily walk but I was woken up by at terrific chap of thunder at 1am. The thunder rumbled for about a minute then gave way to the sound of rain or perhaps small hail on the roof.
When I checked the rain gauge this morning 2mm had fallen overnight (for those in the west tied to old measurements that is 0.0065 ft of rain )
I was surprised how overcast and humid it was this morning such a change from yesterday
Planted out a couple of Bromeliads - probably in an unsuitable place but there you go.
Enjoy the weekend, it is the calm before the storm of last minute Christmas shopping.
Hello Bruce and everyone. The rain must have helped cool things down a bit for you, @Bruce . Over here it’s been overcast all day. Today feels like a lazy day for me. I grilled some sausages for my son, swept the leaves in our yard, watered the plants, and did the usual laundry I do on Saturdays.
This kind of gloomy weather makes my mood feel gloomy too, I really don’t like it. I hope everyone is feeling bright and cheerful and doesn’t let the weather set the tone like I do.
Good morning - We did the Christmas shopping yesterday as the last Saturday before Christmas is bound to be a crush. A couple of things have been ordered from Amazon Prime that we either forgot or couldn’t get locally.
Waking up to a freezing cold Manhatten today. We’re off to a outlet retail park today which is something the wife wanted to do whilst we’re here. After we come back she wants to fit in some more shopping looking for one particular ornament she’s seen advertised. Meanwhile I’ll sit somewhere and drink coffee and take photos.
