Good Morning Saturday, 19th July 2025

Good morning on this lovely winter weekend. No wind, usual cool night and warmish day with temps in the high teens. No rain forecast for the next week except perhaps 1mm or so mid week - nothing worthwhile…

I have absolutely no plans this morning, except perhaps a walk later. No outstanding jobs other than my usual weekend tidy up.

Looks like reading a book sitting in the garden will once again be my lot. Not sure whether to be happy or sad about that, I do like “doing” things.

Have a great weekend.

Take care…

Good morning all! :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain:

The weather is pretty grim here in West Sussex :open_mouth:
Absolutely hammering it down and it’s not going to improve anytime soon. We’ve been upgraded to an amber weather alert. My son was supposed to be travelling back from Glasgow Central late this morning but according to National Rail trains are being cancelled left right and centre. I’ve just WhatsApped my family in Scotland and I’m hoping he’ll be able to stay for another day or so until the situation improves :+1::scotland:

Well, it’s still coffee time dahn sarf :coffee:

Stay dry people! :+1:

Good Morning All.

Our weather forecast has changed from Thunderstorms to the odd bit of drizzle.

The usual fortnightly 3 hour cleaning blitz by Shiv and family this morning.

Another box of things to sort out this afternoon.

The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning as it is known.

There is a TV series about it on at the moment.

It is supposed to be very therapeutic, sorting out all your things and not leaving it to be done by anyone else.

It is in a way, but brings back so many memories.

Selling my vast amounts of fishing tackle is painful.

Why did I need over 20 pairs of trainers?

The upside is some vintage trainers are worth £100s.

Have a great day all.

Good morning everyone, now entering our hottest time of the year, right through August. We actually had a couple of weeks of not so terribly hot weather recently but now temperatures are soaring again.
After doing some housework as early as possible this morning, I’m doing odd jobs out in the yard while I can, afternoons are impossible, don’t wanna get sunstroke!

Have a good weekend forum friends.

Morning all.

Looks like thunder and lightening are due here in the darkest depths of southern Hampshire today.

Managed to trim my overgrown tree yesterday which took all day and now I can hardly move. Still, that saved me from my daily walk and at least my garden looks a lot better. I still have a hedge to trim, but that can wait.

Looks like today we’re out shopping. A distant cousin of Mrs G (she has lots of cousins) has just had a baby girl, so we’re off to buy some new born baby stuff. I’ve been asked if I can do the christening photography some time later, which is not my favourite type of photography I do, for various reasons. But I’ll do it anyway as its family.

Meanwhile, there’s a coffee and muffin with my name on it…

Have a great weekend all…

Last nioght we had a flash of lightning so bright I can’t remember ever having one so close, must have been right over head. If it had been fork lighning !!! not worth thinking about the damage that would have caused.
This morning over cast and that clammy sort of day

Good Morning Everyone…
Just managed to get the Tesco shopping done and back to the car before the heavens opened.
Looks like it’s going to be heavy showers all day.
A good job it’s a rest day…
Rosie the cat seems to be settling in, anybody want to buy a three piece suite with the arms stripped bare…?
Off to a garden centre for lunch now.
No problems here either Janice…

I think my brain is turning to mush. When you write “southern Hampshire” I keep reading it as “southern Hemisphere”, I can understand misreading it once but I seem to do it every time :frowning_with_open_mouth:

I think my kids have resigned themselves to that. I make attempts to get rid of stuff but eventually everything I pick up “might come in useful one day” so it all stays. I find it far too stressful, I am just one of natures hoarders.
