Good Morning Saturday, 18th October 2025

Good morning forum folks, another warm and sunny day in the nation’s capital - mid 20s.

Finished the front lawn using the world’s worst mower this morning, I shall tell them not to let it grow so long. There really is no excuse ,the mower is as light as, she could do it easily when he is at sea.

Pleasant morning out in the sun, even early was good.

Perfect! I loooove Lolly Gobble Bliss Bombs

Am taking the boys to my daughter’s place late this arvo when we will all go to the nearby club for a meal.

Hopefully we will go out with the dog early arvo - anything to drag them off their devices. In the mean time I will read my book.

Have fun.

Take care…

Good morning - Grey but dry. Rain expected this evening.

I thought it was about time I acquainted myself with the washing machine seeing as how Mrs mart hasn’t been around for a couple of weeks to run things in that department. It is making noises in the kitchen so I suppose everything is OK. Not a good drying day but I’ll hang the washing on a couple of racks and shut it in the garden room with a dehumidifier running. A visit to the hospital later and that will be my day.

Have the best possible day

Hi

Good Morning All.

Yet another cold dry day, rain later and all next week.

I have Shiv and family here today, last cut of the lawns and a general tidy up.

It is Diwali next weekend so they won’t be around.

I’m still shattered from yesterday, first time out for weeks, only a very quick shopping trip to Aldi, with Kinga helping all the time.

Still walking a bit though, more than forecast by the medics.

Have a great weekend all.

Morning all…

Its sunny here down in southern Hampshire, although grey clouds are gathering and could rain later.

The wife wants to go round looking for Christmas decorations today, I suspect its a diversion from recent happenings here in our household. Probably go for a pub lunch afterwards. Beyond that, is anyone’s guess.

Have a great day all

garden duty again this morning. After two day only got up half a bag of acorns so the end of them is in sight. Next will be the leaves covering the grass. but those are easier to collect.

Good afternoon everyone, I’m sitting outside in my back yard at the moment, trying to get a glimpse of the sun behind some clouds still hanging around, after three whole days of continuous rain. It just keeps hiding, though! :astonished:

My new washing machine arrived promptly this morning, it did look slightly over-technological at first, but I’ve just done a wash and its quite simple really, I intentionally did not choose a super sophisticated one, even though this one also has a wifi option. I won’t need that, I’m sure.

Have a good weekend all. :slightly_smiling_face:

“Lolly Gobble Bliss Bombs” only Aussies could come up with a product with that name :+1:. It suggests either a snack or an illicit street-corner drug . I would love to have been around the conference table with men in suits when that decision was made! Good thing the package has a description…

Very happy to read you are getting your family together again. Good luck scraping off the screen-time brain fog!

Sounds like a nice afternoon, Graham. Setting sights on something enjoyable down the road can be cathartic.

It’s a fine and respectable thing to learn a new skill as one gets older…I would just be careful about overtalking your newfound expertise with Mrs. Mart .

Always good to get out and about, Swimmy, and it must be satisfying to outdo the expectations of the medics. I wonder if your Aldis are stocked similarly to ours? The item that brings me in is giant vegetarian pizzas that are about $6.99 that my son loves and items for fruit and cheese boards.

You and I must have been appliance shopping at the same time, with the same attributes in mind. I wonder why manufacturers keep upping the complex technology when we all just wan simplicity and reliability? I happened to find a new washer/dryer from a second hand store for song that was returned because the first buyer didn’t like the fact that the lid locks during operation. That drives me crazy too, but I can make it work for the part-time Space Place. How did we get to the place in which our appliances can nag us via mobile phones that are ever leashed to our hands. What have we done? :face_with_spiral_eyes: :exploding_head:

I looked at the radar to see that there are showers along the spine of Italy. It must be lovely there with the temperatures now down enough to have the windows open an sit comfortably outside.

I was up with the sun for a nice walk, as was the young brightly colored cardinal that is back for season two of fighting his reflection in the breakfast-nook window every morning. Men…

We are smack dab in the middle of American football season. Capt. Surfermom left early to fly a wealthy family off for a game a few states away, but he’s happy because he’s also been invited to join them in their VIP suite to enjoy the decadent spread of food and posh seating. That means you-know-who will be doing the yard work, especially raking pine cones and straw, followed with mowing and edging, but that’s ok. The revised plans mean a night off from cooking and the remote all mine, mine, mine tonight :sunglasses:.

Have a fine fall day!

Hi

An update, amazing job done on the back garden by Shiv and Family, really cold but loads done and taken to the recycling.

My shed roof, which blew off in the gales when I was in hospital is nowhere to be seen, not on the school playing fields or next two neighbours to the right.

That leaves the druggie to the left, but no chance of even a look into his garden.

The cost of a new roof is more than the cost of replacing the shed, which is no fun.

Such is life, it is only money.

Enjoyed pie and mash at a local garden centre, should have more to report tomorrow.
The family are due to arrive any minute and I’ve still got 6 hours of Coronation Street and Battle Bots to watch that I recorded while in Llandudno last week.
It feels like I’ve just been flung off a roundabout…And how I managed to get ‘Athletes Foot’ is beyond me…But it’s bloody annoying though…

We’ve had three days of rain @Surfermom, the sun was trying to come out today with much difficulty and you’re right , it was delightful spending time outside, making the most of the struggling sunshine, and not having to deal with the heat of the Summer. It rained again though, but just for a while this time.

Enjoy the remote!

My favourite ice cream has been around for a long time too, it first came out when I first arrived 60 years ago. Despite changing times it remains on sale with its original name A Golden Gaytime

Sky News is constantly running campaigns to have it changed, most of the population disagrees with them.
