Good Morning Saturday 17th August 2024

Hey, Hey, It’s Saturday!

Good morning to you all on this lovely sunny winter’s day. My laundry is on the line and dry already, which can’t be bad. The westerly wind has just sprung up so time to get it in.

Used the remains of a spray can of black on a tiny object that I 3D printed to hold the charge cable for my phone beside my bed. (fed up with getting tangled up in it) To be honest the can really was empty so I shook and warmed it to get enough out of it for this tiny thing.

Talking of my phone, my provider has just taken $230 for my next 12 month’s service. I was lucky because in October the price goes up to $300 but with a lot more data, unfortunately I don’t use the data I have on this service currently but, hey ho, them’s the breaks - I am good for another year at the old price.

Have no idea what the rest of the weekend holds except I don’t think I will have any visitors, my two sons are off to see their girlfriend and wife respectively but one was saying he will visit next weekend, which actually works out well for me. I need some help with my AGM battery, too heavy for me

That’s me for today, what are you up to?

Rise and shine everyone, slightly cloudy this morning, we’re in for a change in weather this weekend. It’s a shame because rain is forecast on Monday evening when the Super/Blue Moon will pay us a visit. After more than 2 months of drought, what rotten luck! If we’re lucky we may just get a glimpse. :new_moon_with_face:

Good morning - The Sun is shining. The temperature at 8.00 a.m. is 16ºC.

No plans for the day but children and grandchildren could visit at any time over the week-end. I’ll be taking a ride to my brother’s house later to make sure it’s all locked up properly after the sales viewing.

Starting the new hormone drug today, to be added to the hormone I’m already taking. Comes with dire warnings of side effects of course. I expect I’ll soon be writing in a high voice.

Have a good day.

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining at the moment and it looks to be the start of another nice day.

After taking Annie dog for her walk I shall take her up to my friend’s house where she will be staying today because I am going to London. I am going with my son and daughter-in-law. We have tickets to see ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and then we’ll go for a meal somewhere. My other son rang yesterday afternoon as expected and we had a long chat, it will be his birthday tomorrow - how am I old enough to have a 54 year old son??

Have a happy Saturday everyone.

Morning all – bright sunshine at the moment but forecast for cloud later :sun_behind_small_cloud:

Expecting 2 books to be delivered today – apparently will be delivered by 9.00 pm! Hope I receive a more informative email later! I have already chosen another 3 books I want to buy. I think I am going to have to buy another bookcase! :closed_book:

Started cleaning the silver yesterday – now I remember why I packed it away in a box, such hard work and not even half done!!

Local radio are doing a phone in about young people no longer applying for Saturday jobs and people are talking about the jobs they did. Mine was in a newsagents – I remember the owner telling me it was OK to sell cigarettes to children if they had a note and I put them in one of those small paper bags we used to put sweets in. One day a policeman came into the shop with a child I had sold cigarettes to. I got a stern talking to and the owner got a warning! :018:

Take care – have a lovely day everyone

Bruce why not get a Ctek AGM charger like this?

here is my MXS 5.0 version for cars but they do others as well
No more trying to clamp crocodial clips to a battery it comes so you can bolt on plug in adapters.
Ok its not that cheap (£70 t0£80) but well worth considering. I use it for my AGM car batteries

Good Morning from Foxy’s Gaff… :classical_building:
Rest day today so no exercise of any description…
Going for lunch to a garden centre about 40 miles away that we haven’t been to for a while. It got taken over and the food wasn’t as good. They might have had enough practice by now and got it right, or they might have gone out of business…I will enjoy the drive anyway… :blue_car:
Our daughter and hubby are coming for tea, so I’ll get to find out all the latest on X (formerly twitter) and the help on the 1% club comes in useful…Give me an hour and there is no question I can’t answer correctly…Trouble is, you don’t normally get that long…

I think you misunderstand. I have four battery chargers, my latest is this which cost $23 (£12). Ctek chargers are absurdly over priced for such a simple device (nothing wrong with them they are just too expesive).

I have no trouble with battery chargers, my problem is the weight of my new aux deep cycle battery which I need to swap with the old battery in the back of my car. Among other things it runs my fridge.

The old battery is 110ah the new one 135ah and much heavier, it has to be manoevred into the battery box after the old one is removed.

Apart from the battery chargers there is a DC to DC & Solar charger built into the car for this battery so it is charged while I drive or from the solar panel onthe roof if the engine isn’t running. That device was over $200

It’s a bit long in the tooth now, the current one charges lithium too.
