Another cool day with temps getting up into only the low/mid 20s. It showered for about 10 seconds while I was taking the dog for a walk , by the time I got my umbrella out of my pocket it had stopped.
When I returned home I discovered my 3D printer had been delivered so I dragged that inside. It has arrived too quickly I am not ready. When I opened the box I only took out the Quick Start Guide to read the unpacking and set up guide, there are 10 pages on how to get it out of the box, plug it in and remove some of the protective packaging!
I will clear table space for it this afternoon and start binge watching tutorials on Openscad, hopefully I will have it up and running by tomorrow. I have copied other people’s projects to analyse what the script does but it will take me a while to get the hang of the basics.
That’s enough excitement for today, have a good one
There are a few projects I have in mind, one is a battery store which someone else has already written a script for and other is a replacement for the grab handle in the back seat of my car where my hat holder is mounted. Yet another is a grill for my camper to cover the computer fans that drive air into the cabin when it is raining, at the moment the fan blades are unprotected because they are a non standard size.
I really want to be able to construct small plastic parts that get broken or even to be able to make small plastic mounts and/or pieces for other projects. You can get the plastic filament in different colours and translucency (is that a word?)
The hard part is learning the scripting language for the cad program which will take me a while. for example to construct a box you create two cubes/rectangles, one the wall thickness smaller than the other, align them then subtract one from the other. I can imagine everybody’s eyes have glazed over by now.
Good morning everyone heavy showers and I am hoping it stays fine a little while so I can get my washing dry.
I have been a good girl doing the excercise prescribed by my Phisio religiously and can hardly move at all this morning so am taking things slowly.
Next job is to chop vegetables for a stir fry lunch, enjoy your day
It was great seeing Janet, had a great time, I did walk down to the sea wall with her, but she wanted to go back to her car as it was freezing outside.
So different on this side of the pond today…a foot of snow in the forecast, 4 inches have fallen already, the rest by nightfall. I will be be shoveling, getting fresh air, wet hair, soggy boots, and helping neighbors most of the day.
This afternoon, I plan to start my yearly income tax return for the IRS. I do enjoy the adventure of satisfying the government, and getting some of my money back if I am lucky.
Have a good day everyone.
Yes nice to see Susie, and yes, it was too cold for standing near the sea.
I popped in to Tesco’s on the way home. Meant I’d left Holly for 3 hours. But she was fine. I did a cheesy crumpet and coffee, took her for her longer walk, then did another crumpet and coffee.
