Good morning Saturday, 12th Feb

Good morning everyone, milder here but very windy and forecast rain and even windier for later, so it looks like being a stay in sort of day, dreaming of spring and watching my seedlings hatch…

Have a pleasant day folks

Morning Barry and all who follow,

Bit dull and dreary out there today, but still dry so that’s a plus. Got some sewing to do today, and an early babysitting request late afternoon, to let me daughter go out with her work colleagues for an early evening meal.

Have a good day everyone

Good morning Barry and all who follow

Today I’m.tasked with totally emptying my Kitchen as the builders start on Monday…they have taken me by surprise because it was supposed to be April when they started and I wasn’t keen on a winter build but the main man says it will be fine and I dont want to lose them so I’m going with it…fingers crossed

Have a good day all

Morning. Thought I’d posted on this thread, but obviously not.

A housework type of day. Changed bed linen, that is in the WM, will clean the bathroom, then shower when washing is done.

Doing main meal for lunchtime (sausage, mash, onions, beans and gravy). Stopped the big meals in the evening as I don’t like eating then. Usually have toast or a sandwich, but now have some brioche rolls, which go well with jam. Yum.

It is 9.30pm on my last day visiting my kids in Canberra. Was actually quite cool today. Visited my DIL this arvo and played Mario Bros Monopoly with my grandkids, daughter and DIL.

Tomorrow take my SIL to the Canberra Bus station for him to get the bus to start the long journey to Katoomba to pick up his Nissan Patrol. It blew up the diesel engine so he has had a 6 litre V8 petrol engine fitted instead.

I will then drive back to Wollongong.

Have a good one.

It was dull & damp when I got up about 07-00, but changed to being very wet & windy, which it still is

I’ve been trying to catch up with a bit of sewing & repairs, and some vacuuming & dusting without much enthusiasm; I really should make the effort while the weather’s bad, then I can get out & about with a clear conscience when the weather improves

Hi to all.
I was certain today was a week day, put the radio on for the radio 2 pop quiz, then realised it was Saturday. The quiz isn’t on at weekends. Son thought it very funny. This is actually the second Saturday I have done this, am I going senile? Don’t answer that, it was just a thought in my head. :grinning:

Well good morning all; the dog is walked, washing on line, blowing well.

Considering housework as well @Jazzi but made the error of opening the first page of a book “The Winter King” by Bernard Cornwell, and that is calling me may do myself a deal and do upstairs and maybe vacuum the stairs and then do some book reading. Do downstairs tomorrow and then downstairs tomorrow and more book reading.

Could go either way though though

Good Morning everyone!
Enjoy your weekend all

Ooh, hope you’ve got your thermals on, Danny. :grinning:

Good morning all. A fresh breeze blowing today, but sunny at the moment.
I had a lovely lie in this morning. Dogs slept, I slept - bliss.

I bought a new small propagator yesterday, as my old doesn’t seem to be heating hardly, so will probably play with that today, along with a few other jobs. Just going to have a nice bowl of homemade Vegetable and Barley soup first though.

Enjoy your day folks.

By 'eck that sounds expensive @Bruce , and that V8 will be not a little thirsty too… :flushed:

Well, did my housework, been for a painful dog walk, and now reclining on the sofa, legs up, with a throbbing ankle. I shall have a read for about half hour, then get up to cook lunch, and find my pain relieving gel. Feel I deserve this rest time now.

A belated good morning everyone  I went out early to my sons house bearing gifts of cake. My DIL and eldest grandson have gone to London for the weekend so the other children were glad of a treat.

It was very cold sitting outside talking to the family through the open door. Then back home again to walk Chloe and lunch of vegetable chilli and wild rice .

Just done the ironing and now have darning to do.

Haha, @Meg , when he gets to know you a little better then maybe he will let you step inside… :grinning:

It was expensive but they have more money than they know what to do with, DINKS.

Modern engines are very economical and bigger engines don’t work as hard. It takes the same energy to move 1 tonne whether the engine is 1litre or six (though there is a slight extra cost for more moving parts) and a bigger engine doesn’t struggle to get up hills. 6 litre is a bit of overkill in my opinion but I do recall all the cars I owned in Britain were woefully under powered and you had to change gear on every hill. I got almost exactly the same mileage out of my HK Holden with a 3.5 litre straight 6 as I did with my Morris 1000 of the same vintage.
