Once again it is good morning time. To be honest it is verging on chilly this morning probably only just over 20° but it is supposed to get up to 24° later.
Just noticed that we are in sync with our American friends, it’s the 9/9/2024.
Set my washing machine to finish a load of washing at 7am so I could get it on the line early, I think it is nearly dry already because there is a bit of a breeze.
Monday morning is coffee and cake morning, which is always a good start to my week but now I am home might do a bit of tidying up in the garden. Those sneaky weeds leap up when I am not looking.
After my triumph finding my spare butane stove I am back to searching for my tyre deflater and pressure gauge. I fear I might have left it on the bull bar of my car and driven off because I am running out of places to look. Hope I find it otherwise will just have to get another cheap one from Supercheap Auto.
Anyway, have an interesting start to the week, take care…
Good morning - Grey and breezy outside at 7.15 A.M. It looks to be the weather for the whole day.
A drive to Chessington this this morning to pick up the new powerchair. Should be an adventure
It will probably take the best part of a day by the time we have gone through the A3 roadworks (or skirted around them), arrived at the place, had all the adjustments done on the chair, got loaded up, gone back through the roadworks (or not) and are back home again.
@Bruce when I was a child and couldn’t find something I wrote the item on a piece of paper and put it under my pillow at night. In the morning, lo and behold, I found it! Try it.
Morning all – overcast this morning but better forecast for the rest of the day – no rain woohoo!!
A prayer to St. Anthony may help you find those things Bruce – worth a try!
Neighbours invited me in for drinks last night, had a lovely time putting the world to rights and complaining about various politicians and policies! As they are off on holiday today I am back on cat servant duties from this evening
Plan today is to meet up with a friend I haven’t seen for several months – we just couldn’t come up with a mutually convenient time or place to meet. I will be taking the bus into the city centre – hopefully – the public transport system here is diabolical but driving into the city is even worse
I can’t believe that I forgot to pick up my prescription from the chemist on Friday…
The chemist is shut on Saturday’s but even then, It was Sunday before I remembered when I went to the cupboard to dispense my next weeks tablets into their daily boxes…And the cupboard was bare…
Anyway, as I shuffled along the rain soaked canal towpath this morning, I thought, if I time it right, I might just get back into the village after the chemist opens so I can take them with my breakfast and prevent my untimely death from lack of medication…
I now have a choice for the rest of the days activities, by choosing from an ever expanding list of jobs, or having a drive down to Greggs for some lunch…Greggs looks like the more likely…
I wish it was more mundane things I was dealing with this morning, but we are packing up the van to go help some friends (elderly) farther west and down the coast who are in the path of the predicted hurricane. Although it will likely be downgraded to a tropical storm before it strikes, they live in a low-lying area on the coast, so the threat of flooding is just as bad as damaging winds. They have two dogs and need all sorts of medical treatments and supplies, so the path of least resistance is to spend a day securing their house, packing, and getting them out of there under the guise of coming to see us for a few days on the beach. Dealing with these storm paths is a lot like playing Russian roulette; this thing could also turn this way, but we are going with the experts on this one. We are just waiting for one more round of predictions that will be released in a couple of hours.
A decent start to the week, had a couple of meetings in town this morning before heading back home. My son has been studying art and design at the public library for his coursework and no doubt will be ravenous when he gets home, which is around about now!
