It is a Monday good morning to you all, it is lovely and wet here this morning, received 6mm overnight but it has rained on and off all morning.
A slight air of sadness yesterday arvo - another of my acquaintances has taken the assisted dying option, on the bright side he was able to attend his own wake and everyone could say goodbye. Here today and gone tomorrow was a bit of a stark reality.
As for today, not a lot to tell you. No walk again this morning, I went for my usual Monday morning coffee and cake then hijacked another Senior branch member to help me count the membership money from the last meeting (annual fee due each calendar year). It all went very well, miraculously the calculated amount was the same as the actual amount (that doesn’t happen too often) so we were happy bunnies when we called it a morning.
I think that might be the highlight of my day, too wet to go out so I suspect it will be reading and TV this arvo. I can’t complain about the rain, we needed it but I do prefer sunshine, at least it is not cold (mid 20s)
Good morning!
Dry, mild, a bit cloudy but with more & more blue sky breaking through, and even some sunshine!
My flu bug has mostly gone, with no sneezing or sniffling and I feel a lot better & brighter
But it’s not quite over yet - I still feel a bit shivery now & again, although that’s becoming less frequent
However, it has left me feeling weak & tired -
I hoped to have a good clean & tidy over the weekend, and although I did some, jobs that would normally take an hour or so took half a day, and I spent a lot of time sitting in my comfy chair, drinking tea, and having a rest
Still, I’m gradually improving, let’s hope it continues
Today I’ll continue with the cleaning & tidying, and post some letters later this afternoon
A bright yet damp day here down by the seaside. Not much happening today apart from taking the wife to the hygienist for a gum scrape and polish. Maybe shopping afterwards and something to eat somewhere. Before any of that is the most important thing of the day - coffee!
Hello everyone. In Bangkok, it’s been raining since yesterday, and last night it poured especially heavily. Today the weather feels quite nice. I spent the day cleaning the house and doing laundry, and suddenly felt like having a delicious cake with a cup of coffee, I’ll order delivery in a moment.
@Bruce Reading your post, I could really feel the rainy-day atmosphere and a quiet hint of sadness. I’m glad everything went smoothly today. Wishing you a relaxing afternoon with a book and some TV. Take care
@swimfeeders That sounds like a full but manageable day. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a good day too.
@zuludog Glad you’re feeling better. Take it easy and I hope you keep improving today.
@Graham Sounds like a pleasant day, enjoy the coffee and have a great one!
I know it’s afternoon, but I’ll pretend I’m from a hot country and it’s still morning…
Just waiting for Mrs Fox to hail ‘Fox’s Taxi Company’ I drove her down to the choir meeting earlier and will go and collect her after she’s sung her heart out…She might be quiet for the rest of the day…Only kidding!
I’ve been watching the Winter Olympics on TV and been amazed at the skill of those people. I keep looking for Rose among the spectators but haven’t seen her yet…
Had to do a slightly longer route this morning on my walk due to Moor Lane being flooded, I risked my life walking along a steep muddy bank yesterday and I didn’t want my luck to run out and plop in the dirty water…
Managed to avoid the rain before and after my walk…Timed to perfection…
Hi all
Monday has been another grey day here & it’s raining now .
Nothing exciting to report …collected a bracelet from the jewellers ,a repair to something called the swiveller not sure about the spelling , it’s a moving part .
Been watching the Olympics those crazy women careering down the icy slopes on something resembling a tea tray AMAZING .
Nobody can do the Olympics like the BBC
