Good Morning Monday, 9th February 2026

It is a Monday good morning to you all, it is lovely and wet here this morning, received 6mm overnight but it has rained on and off all morning.

A slight air of sadness yesterday arvo - another of my acquaintances has taken the assisted dying option, on the bright side he was able to attend his own wake and everyone could say goodbye. Here today and gone tomorrow was a bit of a stark reality.

As for today, not a lot to tell you. No walk again this morning, I went for my usual Monday morning coffee and cake then hijacked another Senior branch member to help me count the membership money from the last meeting (annual fee due each calendar year). It all went very well, miraculously the calculated amount was the same as the actual amount (that doesn’t happen too often) so we were happy bunnies when we called it a morning.

I think that might be the highlight of my day, too wet to go out so I suspect it will be reading and TV this arvo. I can’t complain about the rain, we needed it but I do prefer sunshine, at least it is not cold (mid 20s)

Enjoy your week.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

I am not entirely sure I would want to be at my own wake.

Being taken back to the house this morning to see if the downstairs electrics can be turned on and get an inspection certificate.

I have a very good facemask with me, so a few minutes should be doable.

New meds to be ordered, they house stock has all melted into the plastic apparently and I only 2 days supply left in my bag.

It will be the first ride in Shornas new car, apparently nowhere near as fast as the AMG she had.

Excuse the spelling of her name, It always confuses me.

Then back to the hotel until Wednesday morning now, taking advantage of a canceled booking but staying in the same room.

Have a good day all.

Good morning!
Dry, mild, a bit cloudy but with more & more blue sky breaking through, and even some sunshine!

My flu bug has mostly gone, with no sneezing or sniffling and I feel a lot better & brighter
But it’s not quite over yet - I still feel a bit shivery now & again, although that’s becoming less frequent
However, it has left me feeling weak & tired -

I hoped to have a good clean & tidy over the weekend, and although I did some, jobs that would normally take an hour or so took half a day, and I spent a lot of time sitting in my comfy chair, drinking tea, and having a rest
Still, I’m gradually improving, let’s hope it continues

Today I’ll continue with the cleaning & tidying, and post some letters later this afternoon

Morning one and all…

A bright yet damp day here down by the seaside. Not much happening today apart from taking the wife to the hygienist for a gum scrape and polish. Maybe shopping afterwards and something to eat somewhere. Before any of that is the most important thing of the day - coffee!

Have a great day all…

Hello everyone. In Bangkok, it’s been raining since yesterday, and last night it poured especially heavily. Today the weather feels quite nice. I spent the day cleaning the house and doing laundry, and suddenly felt like having a delicious cake with a cup of coffee, I’ll order delivery in a moment.

@Bruce Reading your post, I could really feel the rainy-day atmosphere and a quiet hint of sadness. I’m glad everything went smoothly today. Wishing you a relaxing afternoon with a book and some TV. Take care :yellow_heart:

@swimfeeders That sounds like a full but manageable day. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have a good day too.

@zuludog Glad you’re feeling better. Take it easy and I hope you keep improving today.

@Graham Sounds like a pleasant day, enjoy the coffee and have a great one!

I know it’s afternoon, but I’ll pretend I’m from a hot country and it’s still morning… :sunglasses:
Just waiting for Mrs Fox to hail ‘Fox’s Taxi Company’ I drove her down to the choir meeting earlier and will go and collect her after she’s sung her heart out…She might be quiet for the rest of the day…Only kidding!
I’ve been watching the Winter Olympics on TV and been amazed at the skill of those people. I keep looking for Rose among the spectators but haven’t seen her yet… :009:

Had to do a slightly longer route this morning on my walk due to Moor Lane being flooded, I risked my life walking along a steep muddy bank yesterday and I didn’t want my luck to run out and plop in the dirty water…

Managed to avoid the rain before and after my walk…Timed to perfection…

Been watching the Olympics those crazy women careering down the icy slopes on something resembling a tea tray AMAZING .
Nobody can do the Olympics like the BBC

I haven’t watched anything other than that poor Yank girl who crashed. The ABC news also had a small report that an Aussie bloke came 19th in the Luge (sp?).

The ABC doesn’t have the rights to the games obviously, no doubt the channel that does have the rights has 24 hour coverage of it but my TV knows nothing about any commercial channels.

Today Monday the 9th was the day I had to say goodbye to my beautiful niece Susan. She sadly passed away after suffering from kidney failure for many years. She inherited this awful disease from her father, my brother who died a few weeks before she was born, He was only twenty one, I was fourteen. Susan had three children and two of these also have the same health issues. Back in 1954 when my brother died there was very little to nothing that could be done whereas now there are treatments and even transplants possible. Susan had two transplants over thirty years ago and two of her kids, now adults, have each had kidney transplants. My brother would have been ninety two had he survived.

Never mind the legs Foxy, you won’t catch me keeping my balance on ice, wearing a wafer-thin metal accessory! :astonished:

They look really chubby those legs don’t they, but it’s definitely all muscle, that’s for sure.

Sorry to hear about your niece @EZ_Rider, I understand how hard it must be for all the family, a sad premature loss of someone close is not easy to elaborate.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I truly understand how you feel. I just lost my younger sister less than a week ago, and my heart is still not steady. Sending you my deepest sympathy. :white_heart:

That is very sad, how awful that the disease affected so many people.

Sorry to hear about it.
