Just returned from my coffee and cake morning with friends, it was lovely as usual but am a bit worried that one seems to be constantly ill and looking very frail. Don’t have enough friends left that I can afford to lose any more.
Soon I am going to load my vast collection of bottles and cans into the car so that later this arvo I can take them to the Return and Earn place to claim my 10c on each one. Not sure I will bother in future (of course I will, it’s like childbirth, you soon forget )
I’ve just replenished my supply of coffee from the convenience shop, don’t really like tea. A bit nippy out there but no more storm thank goodness. So, sipping on the caffeine watching the sky gradually lightening…
I’m having a bit of a clean up and rearrange in the kitchen, our freezer is knackered and the new one is arriving on Thursday. I have a meeting in town this afternoon, may or may not pop into the pub for a quick one afterwards
Yesterday turned out different to what I expected, when I was invited along shopping at The Range , I spent more than I was intending , but pleased with the Christmas stuff I did get ,Lanterns , Nutcraker Men, lights , and ceramic houses to put T.lights in .
Ive a 12ft lighted Garland being delivered today , thats to put over the Fire place …Should look christmassy when its all in place .
now im going to open day 9 of my Lindt advent calendar, Mmm chocolate for brekkie, what would my dentist say .
Morning all – much quieter today, overcast but storm has passed, although still quite windy. Local radio is reporting there are still several hundred homes without power
Enjoy that coffee Chillboot – a lack of caffeine can be dangerous!
How do Facebook do it?!! I have been thinking about having my bathroom redone, I haven’t spoken to anyone about it and I haven’t looked up companies on the internet – yet for the past 2 days I have been getting ads about installing new bathrooms!!! Are they reading my mind? Should I be scared!!
The cleaner is starting today. I hope it works out, she seems a very pleasant young lady so fingers crossed. I didn’t put up the Christmas decorations yesterday as I didn’t want to make things difficult for her on her first day!
I have received an email from Royal Mail stating they will be delivering a parcel to me today. I am not expecting a parcel, so either someone is sending me an early Christmas present or it is a scam!! If the “postie” asks for payment he/she/they will be sent on their way!
Good morning - Just got home from, firstly, a walk to the doctor’s (about 2 miles). From there, a bus to the hospital to collect a load of tablets from the pharmacy. Then a bus all the way home. Exciting times.
Good morning everyone (I just checked and it is still on the am side of midday)
I hope everyone is fit and well and ready to dive into the second half of Monday with enthusiasm…
I’ll have to take your word for the pain in childbirth Bruce, we’ve only had the one, and Mrs Fox had that one…But I know what you mean, after each and every marathon I ran I said “Never again” but you soon forget the pain and hardship and wonder what the hell am I doing running another one…
A bit cold and blustery for this mornings outing but at 7 degrees C not bad for the time of year. It could be a lot worse…
I’m off to the recycling centre now (it used to be called the dump) I don’t think much gets recycled, I suspect most of it goes to landfill, but the council get penalised for every ton of landfill, so it’s cheaper to call it recycling…
I’m taking an old flat screen telly, it’s from one of the neighbours and I was going to take it up into the workshop and ‘recycle’ some of the bits, but there were some technical difficulties lifting it up there and my time could be better spent doing something useful, like sudoku’s or hanging baubles on the Christmas tree…I don’t think there would be many re-useable parts on the telly anyway. It looks in good nick and I despair at all the stuff we throw away now instead of mending them…
