Good Morning Monday, 7th October 2024

Good Morning on this lovely, warm, Labour Day, public holiday - at least in New South Wales it is.

Didn’t wake up until 7am - did I mention I hate daylight saving

Finally remembered to reset my car’s clock this morning, it probably will need doing again, stupid system, the clock needs a manual all on its own.

I am off to Sydney this arvo, I thought I was going up on the train but my son is making a detour from Canberra to pick me up. I am very pleased because that will make for a much easier journey - on part of the route buses are replacing trains due to trackwork. Anyway who doesn’t like being driven about?

Am not sure if I will watch his ship sail tomorrow - depends on the time and the trains back to Wollongong.

Hopefully my computer will download some TV shows @AnnieS recommended while I am away.

In the meantime I need to make a quick trip to the supermarket for some odds and ends.

The radio this morning said that another cyclone is forming off the American coast, I hope @Surfermom is OK, that’s two cyclones virtually on top of each other.

Have a lovely day, I suppose most of you are enjoying Autumn now, so keep warm. Have fun…

Sounds like you have some very interesting visits going on. I use to love to Travel but of late not been in a position to do so.
Would be good I feel to see your Son set sail…

No plans as yet today but sure as usual it will be filled with surprises…

Hi all,

About to go to bed for the 10/7 morning, but this branch of the forum has been most welcoming that I’m usually here 1/2 day early :).

@Bruce, sounds like a good trip with family! I wish you a safe and happy travels!

Going to go one more round of 1+1 =2 then get to bed. It’ll still be there for the tomorrow rush.

Wishing everyone a super duper of a good Monday!

Good morning everyone!

The weather here is still quite hot, just like yesterday, hovering above 25 degrees. Yesterday, I spent my Sunday volunteering at the Edenvale Bowling Club for Retina SA, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals with retinal genetic conditions. They provide counseling, education, and facilitate genetic testing to help patients with vision loss access treatments and clinical trials. October is blindness awareness month.

I spent most of the day ushering visually impaired people and helping set up for the event, which was both fulfilling and exhausting, especially with the full sun on the bowling lawn. Thankfully, I’m working from home today to recover a bit! Wishing everyone a wonderful and productive week ahead. A few pics below.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

52nd Wedding Anniversary today, and just completed my Anniversary early morning walk and got rained on at the end…
:cloud_with_rain:
Had to inform Mrs Fox that the toilet was blocked on my way out, Oh! and by the way,…Happy Anniversary love…
Going out with some friends for a romantic lunch at a garden centre, Mrs Fox will be coming too…
I’m a bit envious of Bruce and Minx (look at the state of that grass) enjoying the good weather…
All the leaves are beginning to fall of now as the weather gets colder and wetter and it will soon be time to alter the clocks here Bruce (nightmare!) Ours go backwards…But at least we get an extra hour in bed…

Unfortunately he is sailing from the wrong side of Garden Island where the public can’t go on the eastern side.

BTW Russell Crowe owns a flat on the end of Finger Wharf, right next to the naval base

Good afternoon - Sunshine and showers here. The supermarket shopping is done. Congratulations on the Wedding Anniversary OGF

Noticed a worrying problem with the new power wheelchair. There is a ramp to drive the chair into the car. It sits at around 30º inclination. The wheelchair has 6 wheels. 2 drive and 4 jockey. The 2 large drive wheels are in the middle. They will drive the 2 front jockey wheels up the ramp but the suspension doesn’t bed down enough to keep the drive wheels in firm in contact with the ground or ramp. The result is that the drive wheels just spin around in mid-air. The chair will therefore not drive up the ramp. It was OK to start with. Wheelchair repair man is calling on Friday.

Have a good day.

The reason the toilet gets blocked is because someone has a 6 inch arse and the drain pipe is only 3 inch in size

I missed yesterday’s post, Happy belated anniversary @OldGreyFox, wet weddings are lucky, so anniversaries should be, too.

That is good work @Minx.

We have the Fred Hollows Foundation which does similar work in Australia and Africa. Fred Hollows himself died many years ago but his work continues.
