Good morning dear avid readers (channelling Lady Whistledown there). Another warm autumn day.
My daughter left early to drive to Sydney to get a tattoo while I toddled off to my Monday coffee and cake morning.
Now I am home I have the washing machine whirring away while the weather is so delightful.
Last night we went to the club for a meal, on the way we checked out the new Thai Restaurant, browsed the Indian Restaurant’s menu before deciding the club was the place for us. I had the special Tempura Whiting, salad and Chips whereas she tucked into a 300gm Porterhouse Steak. In the drinks department I stuck to my tried and tested Tooheys New (I am not very adventurous) but instead of G&T she tried a couple of very sweet looking cocktails. It was a lovely evening out.
I have another visit to the doctor this arvo as my eye infection has not cleared up. I want to get it better before I visit the optician later in the week.
That was my Monday morning (and Sunday eve) - enjoy your week.
Very soon I’ll have me brekky, a shower, and walk along the canal into the town centre as the library has a book I’ve ordered
Then probably a bit of window shopping and dinner in a pub
Morning all – sun shining again (I could get used to this!)
That sounds like a great time you spent with your daughter Bruce
My trick with the duct tape seems to have worked as the bird feeders were still in place this morning, although knowing how crafty squirrels are I have no doubt they will find a way to get to the bird food!
Today’s plan is a visit to the pharmacy to pick up medication, shopping for fresh fruit and veg and then back in time for the gardener who is due to arrive around lunchtime
Aye Up! From South Yorkshire…
Against my better judgement I decided not to go for my walk this morning and give the knee a chance to settle down, even though the sun was shining out of a clear blue sky . It was just over 2 degrees C though, and frost was apparent on the rooftops and lawns.
Mrs Fox is down at the church hall most of today doing an ‘Abba’ party for all the choir members (about 25) there will be sandwiches and cakes and all that stuff…I’d hoped to see short skirts but most of them don’t have the legs for it…
I’m nipping next door to have a look at my neighbours outside light. It packed up a few nights ago and the problem seems like more than just the bulb.
Good afternoon - The supermarket run is done, washing is drying on the line and the day has warmed up. Pleasures and satisfaction are achieved by such small things these days I’m going to ride the bike again this afternoon, a bit further this time. Perhaps even as far as the allotment!.
No family turned up yesterday. They were too busy with house renovation. This means the fence panels that need replacing didn’t get done. No hurry I suppose.
Mixed feelings on my part, potentially a full time job on the horizon working in hospitality
Chilli jnr kindly informed me that he’d broken up for the Easter holidays. I’m very much looking forward to spending some time together.
Deffo some day trips on the horizon
