Good morning Monday 6th June

Good morning all, still raining here after a thorough drenching yesterday and forecast to continue for a while yet, but at least the garden isn’t complaining…

Shopping first thing then I’m going to be cooking a roast for lunch, and maybe a good walk in the forest then if the rain has eased but no other plans.

Have a pleasant day everyone

Polar winds arrived last night and it only just stopped blowing this arvo. Bloody freezing, max of 16° today.

Hope your day is warmer

Morning all.

It turned out to rain for over 6 hours. Nice!

I did a tiny bit of tidying up, but mostly just relaxed and had a nice day.

I’m looking forward to a live masterclass on Wednesday and an online challenge starting next week Monday.

Not sure what the day will bring.

Have a marvelous day everyone.

Good morning one and all.
A thoroughly dismal and dark start to the day but then it’s a bank holiday weekend, why expect anything different. Enjoy your day folks.

Hi

Good Morning All

Big clear out day today after the long Bank Holiday.
They will be looking to discharge as many patients from the hospital as possible.
It is colder and quite grey outside

Have a good day all

No Susie, awake from around 2.30 but nothing unusual about that, seems par for the course these days… :frowning:

Morning all.

There are some places I need to be here, errands to do, things to collect. No doubt I will be getting myself wet in the process. Not been on dog walk yet…avoiding the inevitable.

Good morning everyone  dull and drizzly but the garden is enjoying the rain.
Even my sad apology for runner beans are looking better.

Thank goodness the never ending bank holiday is over, one bank holiday is tiresome 4 horrendous . I have spent days avoiding parties and it has been a nightmare taking Chloe out and dodging neighbours questioning my absence from the festivities. Had I said yes to the invitation I couldn’t have gone anyway because of my misbehaving heart thinking it was running a marathon for 22 hours making speech and the stalest tasks very difficult.

I am hoping to have news of my spinal x ray this week, maybe there is a letter held up in the post we haven’t had a delivery since last Wednesday.

Morning all.
Dull, grey and only 9 degs. here this morning. I feel quite cold.

I’ve got a problem - the sewer is blocked. It is only about a foot away from the manhole lid at the mo. I didn’t know until late last night else I’d have got help earlier, but looking down a manhole is not something we normally do every day!
Waiting for the water authority to come now, but they said any time within the next 48 hours, which is more than a little worrying. I do hope it doesn’t overflow!! :worried:

Got me mammogram this afternoon too. Joy of joys.
One way and another, looks to be an ‘interesting’ day!

Thinking of you Meg. Hope everything works out healthwise for you. x

Sorry to hear of your continuing health problems Meg, I do hope they ease for you before too long.

Regarding the garden though, my plot seems a disaster this year with very little actually thriving in the vegetable garden, and many things not even wanting to germinate! The only saving grace is that the fruit garden looks to be producing in abundance, so you win a few, lose a few I guess, but such is gardening eh…

@Barry thank you Barry, my health my problems are unlikely to improve both conditions are progressive.

I have never had a year like this in the garden my BIL says the same, things are not germinating even in the mini greenhouse, I will be lucky to get a few late runner beans .

Good Morning everyone.

Now the jubilation is over - here is another anniversary that should never be forgotten!

D-Day
Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history. The operation began the liberation of France .
Over 425,000 Allied and German troops were killed, wounded or went missing. This figure includes around 210,000 Allied casualties, with nearly 37,000 killed amongst the ground forces and a further 16,000 deaths amongst the Allied air forces.

We should remember them!

I sometimes wonder - if they could see the state of the world today - would they believe it was a worthy sacrifice of life - on either side.

Not by much.

Meg, I hope you get help soon.

I myself have had the most terrible year with illness and still in pain.
