Good Morning Monday, 6th January 2025

Good morning to you all on this warm summer morning.

BOM warns us that a change is coming and there may be another thunderstorm later this arvo. It was the same yesterday lovely day then later the rubble of thunder and 1mm of rain in a few minutes (just enough to wash away all my good work with the Roundup  ) No high winds, hail or dry lightning which was good.

Today I made an early trip to a different Bunnings, naturally I got my directions wrong, I should have listened to the SatNav, it knew exactly where to go but I thought I knew better. I did eventually get there and bought my technician’s case. Quite pleased with it.

In a little while I will get my ladder out because I want to double check the rear guttering outlet. I have my two water tanks connected together at the moment with a hose to try to maximise water collection for my battle with the council. Unfortunately they are not exactly on the same level so I can’t fill both this way and get the full 5000litres without using the pump but every bit helps.

So far this year I haven’t written “2024” on any document, have come close but managed to correct myself in time. Never mind it will happen, it always does for something.

Have a lovely day, enjoy the week ahead.

Take care.

Good morning!
Still a lot of snow on the ground, but none falling at the moment, and no wind

I decided not to go out yesterday. Instead I idly Searched YouTube and spent the afternoon with a couple of glasses of red wine, a packet of savoury crackers, and watching a man in New Zealand repairing old tractors - who me, a sad old man?

So I’ll make the effort today to walk to LIDL and the local greengrocer and stock up mostly on fresh food & milk

And that’s about it

Morning all – rain overnight but dry this morning, so far! There are flood warnings out for some local areas but fortunately none where I live

Thanks for reminding me Bruce – I still haven’t changed the diary I keep next to the phone (yes I still have a landline!)

Beast is still refusing to leave the house, I think she is identifying as an indoor cat. I know I should just put her out but I don’t have the heart – yes she has me wrapped around her paw!

Had a problem with my new DVD player last night – it wouldn’t read the discs, even one it had read yesterday. Scoured the instruction manual but of course it was no help, so switched the machine off, left for 10 seconds then switched it back on again and now it works!

Cleaner is due today – I am embarrassed that I have done very little housework over the last week or so due to feeling so unwell

Take care – hope everyone has a lovely day

There must have been a lot of rain last night . There are puddles in the garden that usually remain puddle-free. Windy with light rain at the moment. Drier days ahead according to the weather forecast.

Supermarket this morning and then …no idea.

Have a good day

Good Morning from Foxy’s World…
:man_biking: :man_running: :walking_man: :person_cartwheeling:
If you were expecting to hear tales of cycling, running, walking, and other various physical activities from Foxy’s outdoor gymnasium, then you will be disappointed…
:anguished:
Whether it’s down to the post festive lull, or the inclement weather, there has been very little activity in the Foxy household over the last 48 hours… :009:
Printer has run out of black ink, so my 2025 calendar has come out with no numbers on it…Very annoying, and considering a pair of cartridges will be in excess of £50…To say I’m peeved would be an understatement…
Most of the Christmas stuff has been safely packed away and taken up into the loft, except the outside lights (too cold and windy to climb ladders) and the odd illuminated figurine that belongs in a box, that has simply disappeared… :017:
The sun has just made an appearance as I’m writing this so I might venture out and take down some lights, better change out of me shorts though…Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Had a problem with the internet this week end. The fibre optic cable outside when installed was wound too tight and eventually broke after 2 years. Only just been repaired

Good afternoon all!

I’ve made an executive decision, Chilli junior is back at college on Wednesday so I’m actually going to finish cleaning and adjusting the brakes on my civilised little bike, take it on the train and have a bit of potter around London…

As for the fishing tackle, that’s for warmer weather :sun_with_face:

Good fine morning from blustery Florida!

It is blowing a blue streak out there this morning, and the birds are none too happy about it squawking and carrying on about the difficulty in fishing and controlling their flight paths this morning. We are dripping faucets, insulating pipes, and covering plants for the next three nights with the freezing temperatures on our doorstep. We can hardly complain, though. The storm affecting us hit my family in Kansas, along with the other plains states with a coating of ice covered with 40 cm./ 16 in. of snow on top.

My sister took this during a break in the snowfall:

Interstates are closed for at least 200 miles in every direction. The scale, left to right on this map is 15 miles. Law enforcement is issuing amusing posts, reminding teenagers and college students that a trip out for potato chips is not worth sliding into a ditch and having to tear out car seat foam to survive the night. Was it that long ago that we felt so “What me worry” ?

I am likewise packing away the last of the Christmas gear, helping my daughter order her college textbooks, and deep cleaning the pantry. I could write a book with all this excitement going on.

Good luck with the living room bike repairs, technology battles, and shopping today!

That’s kind of scary Surfermom :open_mouth:
I’m referring to the weather although packing away the Christmas decorations can feel just a tad gloomy :pensive:
Never mind, onwards and upwards, fishing for me!
Wouldn’t trust myself with a surfboard! :open_mouth:

Wow! your sister’s pics made me feel cold.

Is your daughter getting second hand text books? Way to go!

Wondered where you had disappeared to. I hope you recorded it with your camcorder :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thank you, Bruce! We usually look for open source or searchable PDF textbooks that are one edition older than the newest version.
