Good Morning Monday, 4th August 2025

Good morning to everyone on this cool day, temps in the high teens but tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 20s, that’ll be a treat!

Happy birthday to the lovely Meghan Markle, Duchess of somewhere, such a cutie.

Being a Monday of course it is coffee and cake morning which was a joy as always.

Had to rush over to the council community centre straight afterwards to meet a rep to check the Seniors’ licencee area - office, storerooms, pantry etc. I don’t think they are too fused. We have some of those old urns which we never use because the council supplys those automatic boilers for making tea etc and ours are not electrically safety tagged but the girl took my word for it that we don’t use them.

Very wet and damp out after a couple of days of heavy rain but hopefully it will dry out soon with no rain predicted for a few days.

Enjoy your Monday.

Take care…

Hi

Good Morning Bruce and all who follow.

Things have not been great recently health wise and I have got night and day the wrong way round.

Been awake all night for the second time in a row and now ready to sleep.

I will have to stay awake today so I can get back to normal.

Apart from that a nothing day, no helpers until this evening, no deliveries due.

Like OGF, I was refused access to a rather innocuous site yesterday due to age verification.

I object to giving ID details out, so in spite of my legendary stupidity in techie matters, I will be trying to install a VPN today.

Have a good day all.

A bright and sunny start to the day. An early visit to the supermarket, then back in time to keep a telephone appointment with the Oncologist. Just a matter of ‘keep on taking the tablets’ I expect. Some more work needs doing inside the new garden room, so that will be this afternoon’s job.

Have a good day everyone,

Good morning all! :cloud:

An adrenaline fuelled start to the week, just ordered a new ironing board cover from Amazon, got to be done! :+1:
I’m off to a meeting in town this morning, might just happen to stroll past the pub afterwards

I’m going to load some film into my new buddy ‘Worky’ before I leave. This is the camera that I’ll be generally carrying around with me…

Yeah, I know, a compact would be more practical! :slightly_smiling_face:

Have a Manic Monday :notes: people! :+1:

Morning all…

A bit grey and drizzly down here in southern Hampshire. Just come back from my daily walk and it looks like its just about to pour down.

Today, I’m organising a special trip in a few weeks time as it’s our special wedding anniversary coming up, so a few days down in Somerset in a posh hotel, topped off with some jewellery she’s been after. “Happy wife, happy life” as the saying goes.

Hopefully I will be ordering my new lens for my camera, which means when it shows up, we’ll have to go somewhere to try it out. Probably go to a bird sanctuary we frequent and see what it does.

Take care all…

G’morning everybody. Funnily enough I bought a new ironing board just yesterday. I’m new to Amazon Prime and just cannot stop using it. Worried the house will soon be full of bric-a-brac!

Morning all – overcast with heavy rain promised for later – oh joy!

Spoke with my brother yesterday, he is recovering from what he thinks is flu but it totally laid him out for a couple of days. He is still having problems winding up Mum’s estate. The main problem is getting Liverpool Victoria to pay out the small amount due on her life policy. They keep asking for more and more information – they are now asking for a copy of my Father’s Will – he passed over 30 years ago and didn’t have a Will. I am still trying to figure out why they would want that!

Had a bit of a fright last night – I was awake at 2.30 when I heard a crash, had a look around and couldn’t figure out what had caused it. Then went into the bathroom to find the hook which I hang my dressing gown on had fallen to the floor – it has been fixed for 4 years so why it should suddenly decide to give up the ghost at 2.30 in the morning I don’t know!

Gardener is due today but not sure if he will need to cancel as the weather doesn’t look too good.

My only plans for today are to do some laundry and shopping

Take care – have a wonderful day everyone

Good Afternoon Everyone…

Guess where we ended up for Saturday’s lunch…
Talk about sea levels rising, I think they are receding…I haven’t seen the sea at Cleethorpes, like on the picture, since I was a boy…
We like to walk along the coast path after lunch, and although the town itself was actually packed to the rafters, not many people walk as far as this. That’s the car park for the new sports centre…

Chucking it down with rain for this mornings outing along the canal towpath, but the upside is, hardly anyone out in the rain.
Strong winds from storm Floris as I’m writing this, but not nearly as serious as it was forecast.
It never is…

You couldn’t Make it UP.
Jethro Took his kids to the Doctor today.
Their coughing was keeping him awake.
" Do you smoke" ask the Doc. “Yes. About 40 a day”.
That’s terrible he said.
“Your habit is the cause”. “Give them UP”.
“Thanks for the advice Doc.”
“I will call Social Services to collect them this afternoon”. :icon_evil:

What a day it has been. Had a phone call from the camera repair shop and they can’t fix my Panasonic G9ii with the memory card stuck as the printed circuit board needs replacing. Panasonic refused to deal with them
Next move contacting my camera insurance people to make a claim. One of the question after asking for proof of ownership , which I supplied. Then cost involved in the claim, here was the problem until the damage is accessed I can’t give. Next is tomorrow to go collect the camera and wait to hear from the insurance company their next move re my claim.

During all this the new SD memory cards arrived so will use them from now on. Just had to format them in My panasonic G9 camera.

Finally the replacement earphones arrived under warranty.

to top all that Teasle or border terrier (16 years old) had an abcess under a tooth, so she is now down the vets having botgh her last two teeth taken out so it doesn’t happen again

That seems incredible, how on earth did a SD card get stuck? and why does Panasonic wipe their hands of it? it’s a worry.

My only experience with camera manufacturers was Canon when my G16 camera started playing up, it went to Canon for a fixed price repair of $200, the camera was returned about 10 days later together with the old, replaced printed circuit board.

Sounds like Panasonic cameras are a throw away camera? I have three.
