Good morning everybody on this lovely warm summer’s day.
Being a Monday it was Coffee and Cake with friends but before that it was an early morning visit to the seniors’ centre to update the seniors’ club’s membership file with rejoining members (Jan to Dec) and count the money we collected.
I nearly forget the latter and received a very worried phone call asking where I was Fortunately it is only a 10 minute walk away.
As for the rest of the day not sure what I will do, it might just be a quiet Monday though I am off to Canberra at the end of the week to see my daughter and son in law before they jet off to Japan skiing. They were worried that with other activities if I didn’t go they woudn’t see me for a coupe of months. I thought that was nice.
Apparently I have lost my dog sitting duties while they are away too so I have to find something else to do while they are away.
A grey overcast day so far, I read the Skylarks are back I look forward to hearing my first one of this year .
Im cooking meatballs at the moment Im putting them with rice and a jar of Bens Chilli con carne , thats my main meal sorted .
Morning Everyone…
A decent morning although a bit nippy for shorts…3 degrees C… Sorry I must have pressed the wrong emoji…
I wore them anyway (the shorts and not the dress) and strolled around a nice 3.5 mile ramble along the towpath. Missed the sunrise as it was obscured by some cloud but that’s all blown away now and the sun is shining down.
Taking Mrs Fox for her dental appointment later and then probably a drive down the M1 to Dobbies garden centre for some lunch.
Good fine morning from avian Florida! Like @Eliza I am enjoying an abundance of birds this morning. During the beginning of the 20th century, Florida had the most abundant and diverse population of birds in the world, but most species were driven to extinction due to the use and exportation for the most surprise reason - decoration of women’s hats! Thankfully some species survived and their ancestors are out breakfasting this morning.
I had the hilly oak trail to myself this morning. The cold temperatures left the trail empty, so I could let my mind wander and let all the silly things that usually preoccupy my thinking slip away. I make it a habit of not running in a dress.
Back home, and still not in a skirt, I’ve been filling moving cartons over a cup of chai. I am on driving duty this week, so I am trying to get as much done at home as I can. My son was here helping me caulk around the ceiling and floor yesterday, so I am about to work on the baseboards while he is off flying and then I’ll be tackling moving boxes and spreadsheets. My kids have been laughing at my nerdiness for recording everything that is going into numbered boxes, but we’ll see who is laughing when they want to find some random item in the depths of all those boxes. I keep thinking of Indiana Jones.
